The series might only be underrated to people who have never played the castlevania games because I'm sure people who played them are what pushed this show into popularity. Symphony of the night, which I consider to be one the greatest games of all time, most likely made alucard very popular as well since he's the protag in that game. Don't know if you're a gamer or not but you should give it a try if you have a taste for more castlevania!
