Mirror renders are tricky, each frame takes 4x longer so the light can bounce around enough to make the reflection clear. It never quite gets to the crispness of a straight-on shot.
Have tried headscissors before and it is hard to do the POV shot because the thighs are too close to see, so that's where mirrors come in. Tried it with the camera moving along with his head to make it more realistic, but it was too much movement and so went back to the non-moving camera. Still experimenting.
