A Roman Holiday Set - Part 1

First of all Happy New Year, i feel like i haven’t been around since forever but it’s all my Day Job fault, i’ve been buried in work since like October and every time i have a little time off i’m way too tired for playing or even for CC making, but, i took some days to relax during the holiday season (mostly because i got sick during that time too) and spent the days discovering the old Hollywood magic. Audrey Hepburn & Gregory Peck’s Roman Holiday (1953) was a breeze of fresh air. It’s amazing how a simple, cheeky, bit cliché (but not really because, come on! she was the blueprint) black and white movie can inspire this historical simmer.

I know, 1950′s is way out of my Go To period of choice, i tend to go for Rococo or 1920′s but i’m telling you, the clothes on this movie are something else. First of all Princess Ann wardrobe consist in only 3 1/2 looks, on the entire movie, and that’s what makes it incredible, you can see how she evolves from her proper bit uptight look to a more fashionable and confortable one.

The first couple of looks i’m sharing are inspired on her Runaway Scene and her Tourist in Rome Scenes.

If you have watched the movie you would know they are the same look but styled in a diferent way. While Princess Ann is wandering on the Rome Streets she buttons down her blouse, roll up her sleeves, changes her footwear and cuts her hair and because of that i wanted to create separate pieces however they would only work with themselves because the skirt is too highwaisted and the blouse cuts too high on the body as well. So i turn it into a full body outfit and made a color palette inspired on the Rome Streets.
