Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give you an update on what I've been working on for the first half of this month. It has been really busy on my end (again) - my wife's birthday, work (extra roles), work (prepping for interviews), Easter holidays with the family and of course working on patreon.
First off, I want to say there is no new content for the first half of the month (the second half will see another scene in the Ruins of Grunvyr series - the Forge Halls). I've spent an enormous amount of time on reworking my Foundry modules instead. This is for a few reasons.
Firstly, I'm planning on releasing a Free Module. This is really important to me and RuinWorks as I hope it will attract more patrons and allow me achieve some goals I have for the project. I'd like to be able distribute my work through Moulinette and/or through the Foundry itself. Currently the Foundry team is reviewing my material so hopefully I can release within the month.
Secondly, I've split my main module into three separate modules - RuinWorks Customizable Scenes, RuinWorks Dungeon Scenes and RuinWorks Urban Scenes. There is likely a fourth coming (some like the Wilds or Outdoor Scenes for the Forest series and ruins). I've done this as my base module was getting large and wanted to help those of you on the Forge install them more easily. This will hopefully help with organization, as some of you like the customizable scenes, and others the bigger series. Now you won't have to install or activate all of it if you don't want them.
However, this doesn't mean there is nothing to provide. In reworking the modules, I've also gone through and updated many of the scenes. Quality of life improvements for the many scenes (buttons etc) and I've also cleaned up some of the more intricate scenes. I'll update the Destructor page tomorrow with a change log and links to the new modules.
This update has been focused on Destructor updates (Foundry users), as they form the core of my patrons. However, for Fragmenters I'm planning on providing a pack of my prefabs for DungeonDraft. These will use forgotten adventures assets and allow you to easily place things such as full tables and desks. And I am still working on my own asset pack I started with the Roadside Copse scene.
Doing all this will hopefully payoff in future months and has really made me realize what I enjoy doing - designing and creating maps and scenes. This more technical stuff has really been a drag and I'm excited to get back into creating again (even if it's only been a few weeks!).
Let me know if you have any questions or requests!
Thanks!
Rob from RuinWorks
