January Release 1: Dwarven Crypts (Ruins of Grunvyr Series)

Hi guys,

It's been a busy while since I last posted. Not only have I been working on this chunky scene, but I've been putting together a free module for the Foundry community and updating previous scenes. Plus all the regular life stuff :)

I really hope you like this release. I put a lot of ideas into it, as I think you can see from the video. I struggled keeping it to only 15 minutes lol.

The Dwarven Crypts are where the dwarves of Grunvyr buried their dead and hid the Royal Tombs. It includes multiple lines of defense.  First explorers must navigate through halls blocked by portcullis' and open the three which halt entrance to the Key-room. Once the Key is retrieved, they must use it to unlock a rotating floor mechanism which opens another secret door behind a statue. Lastly, a mini-puzzle of cascading door-bridges needs to be solved before entering the royal tombs and claiming the treasures within. Oh and did I mention traps littered the whole thing?

I imagine this scene can be reached via the Dwarven Temple (see my October release) from behind the moving statue. It can be run as part of the Ruins of Grunvyr Scene, by itself or you could cut out just the Temple and Crypts scenes if that's all you need.

I'd appreciate hearing if you guys enjoy these kind of scenes, with lots of options/traps and interaction points or if you prefer scenes with less going on. These scenes (Drwaven Crypts, Black Rat Hall) definitely take longer to create. I want to make sure it's worth it :)

Thanks for the input. I think you're right. And I'm going to try for that more. My problem is I always start small and everything balloons!

Commenting on your request for feedback on scene preferences. I feel like there are plenty of times I just want some simple scenes instead of one with a lot going on. Maybe break them up in a 1:4 ratio...1 complicated scene like the Dwarven Crypts to 4 rather simple scenes where you're just providing an interesting location with walls, lighting, maybe multiple levels or some other interesting terrain feature...having said that, I'm already thinking about how I might use the crypts...
