May Release #2: Road Through the Wilderness (+ vehicle and trees)

Hi guys,

Recently I've been focusing on the Town of Shir maps and I started a second series on the Dwarven Ruins of Grunvyr. And while I've tried to make these as flexible and reusable as possible, I'm aware that some of these may not be as useful until I've finished the entire series.

As such, my second release this month is meant to be something immediately usable/reusable.

This scene represents a stretch of road (25×40) through the wilderness. Stones/rocks dot the hilly landscape, through which the road carves a path.

To customize, I've included three generic areas within the map, where alternate tiles can be selected with a simple click. The first two include campsites (basic and wealthy, with/without horses), ruins (circular stone ruins, ruined homestead), and basic clearings (for your own tiles or one of my buildings for example). The third area adds a river, gorge, or a side path in the middle of the map. There is also the option to add a bridge over the river (2 new bridges and two from the hasna puzzle map) or a cave to the gorge/river edge (in case you need the entrance to a layer). Lastly, I've added tree bases to the trees from the Hasna Forest release. So these can be added too (for foundry users, I've made all my trees into multi-level prefabs to drag and drop as you please).

These can all be mixed and matched to create new encounters or to modify existing areas ("hey there wasn't a camp here last time we came down this road!" :))

Also included in this release is another vehicle - the Carriage (with luggage and without). It's meant as a noble's/wealthy person's transport - deep purple exterior and comfortable interior.

I'm always open to suggestions for vehicles and things I could add the the random encounter scenes, so let me know if there's something you'd like to see :)

Hope you enjoy!

May Release #2: Road Through the Wilderness (+ vehicle and trees)

FYI, it seems the latest version of Monk's Active Tiles has broken the tile switch system for this map. It looks like the "Cycle image" action has been deprecated. I hope you'll be able to update the map with a fix, as I'm terrible with that stuff :). FYI it seems the version that "broke" the map is revision 85

Thanks! For sure, I'm planning more of my "Random Encounters". Swamp is planned, as well as mountain. Maybe I can even work one into one of my city scenes. Snowy is a good thought too - maybe an area with footprints that can be revealed with a successful perception check etc.... hmmmm

Thanks a lot for your reply, I was indeed using the wrong link (probably and older one) and the new link fixed the issue. It's really an amazing map. I hope you'll keep doing more of these modular encounter maps for different biomes (forest, snowy area, marsh, etc.) as I have a lot of use for this kind of maps when doing improv scenes with my group. Keep up the good work!

Hi Franck, i can't say whats going on, but I am on version 1.0.8 for my module (soon to be 1.0.9). There haven't been other reports of this issue yet. I'll see if I can get in contact with the forge to figure out what's going on. I do test my install links on a separate server before release to make sure they are working properly, so I'm a little surprised. The correct link should be under the latest Destructor reward post for Road Through the Wilderness.

This looks great. I've tried installing the module using the Forge and it seems to be stuck updating at version 1.0.0, which does not include this map. Is there a new link somewhere that I may have missed? Edit: nevermind, I figured it out. Great work, I'd love to see more of these modular encounter maps!
