Hi all!
Man it seems like a long month for me. I was desperately trying to get out the latest release before April 15th (my fiance's birthday), but obviously was unable to. I was looking back and wondering why I was unable to manage it... and well I think I just bit off too much. This is a pretty big release. While there is only one premade scene, it includes the Church of Our Lady Laurenthia and 10(!) other buildings. This is the second release for the Town of Shir mini-project.
Looking back, I think the Church could have been a release on its own. It's a 4.5 storey building, fitted with statues and stained glass windows. There are areas for the priests, a bell tower, balconies and a gothic rooftop (probably my favorite part, along with the main hall).
The 10 buildings are not small either. Five of them are 3 storeys tall (plus rooves). They include houses 5-11 (1-4 being in the Castle Gate scene), a taylor's shop and residence, a general store and a blacksmiths. Since these are not just square buildings, they were a little bit annoying to put together, but I think worth the effort.
Since this release is as big as it is the second release this month might not add as much. Some ideas I had:
1. Creating two alternate churches - abandoned and evil. Or make a "generic" church... the current is somewhat sun-themed. I had an idea to create tiles where GMs could add their own holy symbols?
2. Additional, smaller backgrounds to fit just the church for something non town based.
3. Wagon's and carts of various sorts - tax collector wagon, nobleman's carriage, farmer's cart etc. These would come as prefabs.
4. Making a prefab out of the Castle Gate.
5. Making interactive merchant shops (though Monk's Journal Notes) and including them with the prefabs.
Let me know what you'd like! If I don't hear much, I'll likely just do what I feel like :)
