Updated situation with "I Know I Love You" - please vote!

Hi everyone,

2 hours ago, I posted this update, where I said that it didn't look like we could continue with "I Know I Love You" as a show here on Patreon, due to the lack of availability of good subs (long story, please check out my linked post for the details).

And so, many of you sweetly chimed in with suggestions on shows I could check out instead, which I super appreciate. πŸ₯°

AND THEN. Learjet (thank you, Learjet! ❀️) came back with some Viki news, which I'd missed.

Essentially, I'd thought that I Know I Love You was still lacking a channel manager, and so, it seemed like Show's availability on Viki would be a long time coming. At least, that was the situation when I'd last checked, which was quite recent.

HOWEVER. Learjet let me know that not only do they now have a channel manager, but they also have an airing schedule!

The first 4 eps are due to be released on 5 Jan, with 2 eps a day thereafter.

If they are able to keep to this schedule, we can continue to have I Know I Love You as the covered show here on Patreon.

That said, I don't know how they plan to do this, because subbing is hard and time-consuming work, and the available subs out there are mostly machine translated (except E1-7, which is available on the Drama Box English channel).

So.. I love the idea of them giving us the subs and this quickly, but I'm a little wary as to how realistic their airing schedule is, because of how time-consuming it is, to make subs.

Right now, I am open to either sticking with IKILY, or covering something else, and letting the Viki team get everything done, before potentially bringing IKILY back here on Patreon, at a later date.

I'm wondering where your interests lie, at the moment, so could you please vote below, on what show you'd like to see covered, in place of Twinkling Watermelon?

These are the frontrunners right now, based on how my mood matches my initial investigations and toe-dipping (and by toe-dipping, I'm talking literally just checking out the various trailers, & a few minutes of first episodes).

If you're open to any of these, then feel free to vote for all 3.

I just want to know where your interests are, at the moment, especially since many of you liked the idea of IKILY being a remake of One Spring Night, AND some of you are finding Marry My Husband very engaging, right off the bat.

I plan to work on episode notes for Perfect Marriage Revenge now, for posting here on Patreon tomorrow (Thurs), and then hopefully, based on your votes, we'll have a show for Friday.

I'll leave the poll open until tomorrow (Thurs), 5pm, so you have a little over 24 hours to vote.

Thanks everyone!

Now now, we need to respect the democratic process haha

Im so bummed IKILY didnt get enough votes ☹️

@Natalia Very well put. You are definitely right in that they did not have the "forever" feel. At the same time, they also felt so natural together after they slowly warmed up to one another and genuinely relied on each other. It felt like a real healing process as both of them stayed away from stable relationships and lost faith in love due to their respective experiences. For me, it felt like they would compromise and deal with whatever life threw at them in a rational way by being open and honest with each other. Agree with you regarding the work bit. The show touches upon all those aspects and just does enough to help the viewer understand the work related issues that our characters have to deal with. The younger sister's character arc was a funny one. Like you stated, it started off in a way that makes you feel bemused at her approach to finding a suitable partner. But I found her relationship with her sister to be the strong point and slowly, she did turn a corner through her experiences. Guess this is the time for revenge on cheating husbands if that does end up winning out. πŸ˜‚

Re: Fake it till you make it. The OTP is a strong one; they are both charming and you can see on screen how they are charming each other! As ABV and GB say, they feel real and this is the show's strong point. I particularly appreciated that at least to me they did not look like one of these drama couples that have "forever " tattooed on their foreheads, meaning that I can very easily imagine them splitting up after some years. You may think I am weird to say that but "forever" couples look super fake most of the time to me. Concerning the plot involving their work, I tried hard to not quit at the beginning, but after a while you get that it's not about work, but about them and work. The show also tried to touch upon some difficult subjects, such as burn-out (in connection to the FL's first supervisor), the jungling between career and the traditional roles of women or even plagiarism. Nothing goes too deep though, as the show is 14 episodes long (and that is good, I think). Last but not least, I was initially irritated by the younger sister's arc: a 26 year old girl determined to find the best candidate (meaning the richest/best provider) for marriage but as the show goes on she grew on me and I found the whole subplot about relationships goals and expectations very interesting from a sociological point of view. Having said (all) that, I vote for some real, nasty revenge on a cheating husband!πŸ˜„πŸ˜„
