2023-11-17 08:34:10 +0000 UTCHi Princess Jasmine - ooh I didn’t know you followed the Marvel/Avengers stuff!!! I watched almost everything up to Endgame. Then after that I watched just a few things - Shang Chi, Spider-Man, WandaVision, Falcon & Winter Soldier. The Black Widow movie was a super bummer, it came out way too late, after her character already, well, you know. I actually enjoyed Captain Marvel but agree it wasn’t a very good movie. No character growth and she was way too over-powered. I did enjoy Ms Marvel the TV series, especially the first few episodes. How lovely to see a Pakistani American, Muslim, depicted as an ordinary teenage girl who also happens to develop superpowers. The first half of the series was very fun… but then the second half left somewhat to be desired, the villains were thinly characterised and I do think they bit off more than they could chew by involving Partition in the storyline 😣 But Ms Marvel the character as played by Iman Vellani is spunky and very cute and with heart. So I’m watching The Marvels mostly for her. Let’s see if Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is more well-rounded this time instead of just plain cocky. I think there are more than enough cocky characters in the Marvel Universe with Iron Man, Dr Strange, Thor etc.
