How I work to bring you MORE ART for LESS MONEY!

** WIP comic page attached **

Look folks, every now and then I get an automatic Patreon message about 'raising' my prices to make some more money from my tiers. You know what?!? I have no plans to raise prices!!! If anything, I WANT TO LOWER THEM!

Old Ready needs your support, no doubt about it. Your ducats keep the lights on and keep me creating more art and animation for you. As we grow I continually look at bringing you more and better art. I also consider price cuts, sales and specials.

I know it's a big ask to support me monetarily. I appreciate those who do and still love all my friend and fans who can't support me with money. I have been in many tough patches and know it's rough times for some.

I promise always to take every single penny you send my way and put it right back into work for YOU!

LOVE YOU ALL and stay awesome!

No worries and my offer stands about a Discord room where you can drop ideas and perhaps I can pass ideas and thoughts to you. It's up to you of course! Appreciate the clarification and I wasn't offended either on any of your replies! -Ready

Ready Art

My reply wasn't intended to be combative. I'm sorry if that's how it read. I made an offer, and you replied 'thank you but no' in essence. I felt it was perfectly civil. My feelings weren't hurt, and the offer still stands. I understand that the movies are your priority. I know how expensive and laborious it is to create animations. I wish you good luck and all the best with them, even if they aren't particularly my cup of tea.

Well, that’s certainly one way to look at it. I personally wouldn’t call it a ‘no’ unless you only deal in absolutes with you getting exactly what you want and any compromise is viewed as a ‘miss’. I 100% appreciate the interest and the commission offer as I mention! I appreciate and thank you for it. What’s funny is I am wrapping up the current comic and really am looking at bringing in the things you mention to the very next comic. Reading your reply I suspect you will probably not be super happy about what I produce unless it’s in lockstep with your ideas. I took a bit of my time to reply to your initial comment and make it a bigger post for all to see and enjoy and not in any way to call you out. I doing my best in good faith and being as frank as possible. You and I go way back and you know I have been nothing but civil. As I said, I do what I can! Haha. My Mom had a saying that went “You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” Not saying you are being ‘vinegar’ but you really have nothing to lose by being hopeful! Why don’t you do this – message me here or on Discord with your commission idea. What I want to see is exactly what you view as a ‘win’ scenario. Go ahead and be as detailed or rough as you like. I would need to see page counts, characters, rough plots. Basically, show me your specific expectations in a perfect world. I am not doing commissions but gathering ideas doesn’t hurt. To be clear – what you already wrote would not be enough for me to start on anything as a commission. Stuff like length, black and white/ color, overall plot (on new stuff) etc would all have to be settled in advance. If something is a straight redo then that has to be clearly spoken. (all pages, most of the pages, etc) Are you on Discord? I can setup a room there and you can drop any and all ideas you like. Personally, that’s a pretty good offer my friend. Don’t be a Discord fuddy-duddy, it’s a great collaborative tool I have used for many (wait for it) commissions and collaborations! But that’s just me talking. You do you! Haha -Ready

Ready Art

Yeah. I figured it would be a "no", but I'll still be around if you change your mind about comission work!

Jackson Pollock

YO!! Did a more formal reply with a public post! See what you think and drop a thought there if you like.

Well, I can't really imagine any of what I'm suggesting would dovetail with future plans. Just kinda looking at past scenes that I felt had potential that I'd love to see get expanded on, or redone. I'm a big fan of the superhero stuff, and particularly Jean Grey shows up a lot in the comics which I love. She's got two especially great appearances in The Wall (around page 130) and Class Action (around page 25). Unfortunately in both cases she doesn't really get any action which I felt was a bit of a missed opportunity. The buildup is fantastic in Class Action, the attempts to resist, the arrival of Benton and Alexander on the scene, and the colour update was incredible. In The Wall, I really love the way that Bill is pushing her buttons and getting under her skin and causing her to grow by imagining her in erotic situations. I also love Super Musings and I'd love to see that one get redone. Another golden oldie is Random Musings 2 - I love the bat robot at the end, and Batgirl seeming to lose her intelligence as she outgrows it from within. Beautiful stuff - love to see a redraw, and an extended finale with Batgirl and Superman would also be great to see. Random Musings 4 is another in the same vein - I loved the concept of a woman in Iron Man's armour, and the daughter of Dr Doom, working together and both pretending to be men. I feel like that's an excellent concept to run with for a comic, especially with the surprise factor when they do eventually (inevitably) outgrow their armour in the presence of others. I'd kill to see that expanded into a full comic. Another one I quite liked, back to the Growth Lab, was the ending to The Change (and the start of The Wall), with the scene between Mitchell and Stromberg. Always like a cheeky Hannah appearance, and I liked the way that this kind of dweeby loser kid fucked her into submission and took over the ship. It ended up not really going anywhere as we didn't see them again for the rest of the issue (as I remember it). Might be an interesting thing to explore over a few additional pages or a longer span. Anyway. I don't really anticipate much coming of these without a direct commission. I really would be happy to pony up a fair chunk of change for any/all of these concepts, so let me know if you change your mind!

Jackson Pollock

YO brother! Sadly I'm not taking any commissions at the moment BUT since you are a longtime superfan please drop me a line here or where ever (email me at granitelog @ hotmail.com if you like). Just fire off your ideas and be as detailed as you can. If you are talking about particular issues, characters or the like. Also, take a moment to drop in WHY you like a particular comic. What I'll do is see if any of your ideas dovetail with my plans for the comics and PERHAPS I can pull things forward on ideas you (or others) might like. I'm always listening and I do read each suggestion and idea. If I don't get to it it's only because it's a) outside my wheelhouse or b) not currently matching with my Growth Lab plans. Still, I do care and love to hear from friends and fans, especially ones like yourself. -Ready

Ready Art

Would you be open to doing some commissions? I'd be happy to sling you some money to refresh some of the old comics I love :)

Jackson Pollock

Appreciate it and I look at this as a team effort - me and you making art together. My part is to do my best work, be consistent and communicative. I need your support in many forms and money is one of them. Sharing the work, recommendations and the like are important as well. In the end, I'm doing what I love so I'm very happy. I only want to secure the ability to keep bringing you my best! THANK YOU! -Ready

Ready Art

Wow your the first person who isn't greedy and doesn't raise there prices because something tells you too your art is more than enough to probably get hired on to do anime or cartoons for major companies but you do it for great prices keep up the work buddy
