Teaser for upcoming kdrama "Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon"

I didn't watch Season 1, so I have no strong feelings about this season.

Show's synopsis on MDL reads:

"It depicts the story of what happens in Arth approximately a decade later. Over the course of more than eight years, Arthdal succeeded in suppressing the massive rebellion of the tribes slaughtered by Ta Gon in Season 1, and the Agos finally achieved the reunification of 30 clans after 200 years under the leadership of Eun Seom.

In Season 2, Ta Gon’s Kingdom of Arthdal and Eun Seom’s Ago Union are set to face an inevitable great war. Eun Seom is the ruler of the East now. Tan Ya is the successor to the Wahan clan. The story set eight years after Ta Gon has become king."

Lee Jun Ki, Shin Se Kyung, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Bin star in this.

Show will be 12 eps, and will air from 9 Sept to 15 Oct, on Sat and Sun, on tvN and Netflix.

It's true that Lee Jun Ki looks amazing with the mane of glory, but.. I didn't see Season 1, and I'm not sure I'm willing to watch Season 1, in order to watch Season 2.. But let's see. If everyone raves about it, maybe? πŸ˜…

Ah, how can you not have strong feelings kfangurl with Lee Jun Ki looking epically handsome in the previous trailer??!! I thought season one was strange, in that there wasn't really a story arc - it was like the introduction. Hoping this season is meatier as the set up was great!! I will be watching anyway 😊

I suspect that what happened was Song Joong-ki (and Kim Ji-won) said "yeah, I'm not signing up for another 6-9 month slog in Arth, sorry." So Lee Joong-ki and Shin Se-kyung -- quality performers in their own right -- were reasonably close in appearance and the best substitution they could hope for.

I liked season 1; I am not sure of how this was managed, because there was a real cliffhanger at the end of season 1 and, seriously, I wanted to see how things turned out, but ok, I will give it a chance. Although, Lee Jun Ki as the grown up version of Song Joon Ki seems kind of... random?
