Drama Exchange: Deep-dive zone (February 2023)

Hi everyone!

Here's your Deep Dive zone for February!

Thanks to Trent for suggesting and implementing the new SPOILER convention, where you announce your spoiler in a first level comment, then write your actual spoiler (while still announcing it's a spoiler) in a reply to your first level comment.

This makes it much easier for folks to browse the Deep Dive, without necessarily having to scroll through walls of text that they're trying not to read. 😅

Have fun chatting dramas, everyone!

At this point in episode 5, my least favourite elements of Korean thrillers are popping up - corrupt police commander in cahoots with skeezy land developer and skeezy city councilwoman? Argh. As seen in Stranger, Uncanny Counter and gazillions of other shows. Also, I see a reluctant bromance forming and I don’t really feel it? Like show i not convincing me enough why Joo Won is making a turnaround when he was so dead set (obtusely so) on pinning Doo Shik as the murderer. I guess there were some flashes where he intuitively put together what Doo Shik said and how the clues didn’t add up? But what were those photos Doo Shik threw down, weren’t they of the informant’s cell phone? Did Doo Shik take them himself (in which case, incriminating of Doo Shik) or were they from the forensics investigation? (In which case, incriminating of Joo Won instead).

Beyond Evil - done with episode 4, watched part of episode 5

Ah. Enjoying it? Reborn Rich has a similar premise, so it's interesting to compare & contrast the two. Overall, I'd say the gee-wiz plot developments are more fun in Reborn Rich -- due to the time travel factor -- but the emotional depth is much greater in Money Flower.

@Meriwether - I am on Episode 9 of Money Flower :)
