So the full title of this one is "Link: Eat, Love, Die" which leans darkly irreverent, and I suppose that helps with managing expectations?
This is a fantasy-mystery story about a chef (Yeo Jin Goo) who finds himself randomly experiencing emotions that belong to a woman (Moon Ga Young). The mystery part likely comes from the fact that Chef's twin sister went missing 20 years ago.
I have a fondness for Moon Ga Young, and she seems well-cast for this role. I'm.. less sure about Yeo Jin Goo, in this role.
What I mean is, I think Yeo Jin Goo's an excellent dramatic actor (SO good in The Crowned Clown!), but I'm not sure about his comic timing, and I also haven't yet seen him in a good rom-com, in the romantic leading man space.
I personally felt like he was miscast in Hotel Del Luna, and I didn't feel any chemistry between him and IU, and I gave up on My Absolute Boyfriend. So.. that's not a great track record, from where I'm sitting. π
Still, hope springs eternal, and if this turns out to be cute, that would be great for everyone.
Show is 16 eps, and will air on Mondays and Tuesdays from 16 May to 5 July, on tvN. No word yet on which streaming platforms will carry this one.
