LOVE LIKE THE GALAXY --Ep. 1- 17 ----------SPOILER------------------------- I am watching my first c-drama ever. Until now I haven't because I don't know the language but many of you have reviewed this drama liking it so much that I decided to watch it. I am glad I got out of my comfort zone because it seems to be a worthwhile watching. It is my first Chinese period drama and I have a lot of curiosity and questions.... The first interesting thing is the set up that lasts many episodes (after all, a total length of 56 episodes is remarkable!). It seems that the initial set up is all handled by endless interactions and dialogues from the characters that define their status and character. And here I would have the first question: 1) But are women in charge in China? Or is that just an element of c-dramaland? If so, it's like..... Italy! ๐Ÿคฃโ€Š๐Ÿคฃโ€Š๐Ÿคฃโ€Š๐Ÿ˜…โ€Š The dialogues are extremely sharp and complex, and some of the initial dialogues I had to review a couple of times to understand the subtleties and allusions. Wow what a complex world. The scenes with so many characters caught from above are lavish and crowded (beautiful) make the idea that China is a huge country... ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€Š๐Ÿคฉโ€Š๐Ÿคฉโ€Š Interesting about pet names (family pet names) even though they complicate things a bit.... The two main characters Ling Bu Yi and Cheng Shao Shang are really interesting. He is so tough and stoic (2) but are the heroes of c-period drama so stoic and unyielding? ) and she so herself without the need to pretend and so witty and original.... They make a good couple on paper... At first Leo Wu as General Ling Bu Yi didn't seem anything special to me, but as the story progressed I totally fell for him because he is definitely cool as a general but so tenderly in love. The scene in Ep. 12 where Shao Shang treats his wound is so mezmering between them a tremendous amount of tenderness, fear, attraction (sort of a metaphor for what first love is, you know the famous combination of love and death...). ๐Ÿ˜‰โ€Š๐Ÿ˜โ€Š๐Ÿ˜โ€Š๐Ÿ˜โ€Š Now I am so curious about Chinese history, its customs, culture, language, by the way here and there I recognized some words (I felt heroic in this ๐Ÿ˜…โ€Š๐Ÿ˜โ€Š) because they are the same as Korean words for obvious reasons...

@Trent - Maybe? The word "political" throws me off from the start though. Now, if it had Unicorn in the title ;-)

"Political Fever" just showed up as available on Viki (https://www.viki.com/tv/38530c-political-fever); this was a show that flew *completely* under my radar, as in I'd never heard of it, until it snagged a best drama nomination for the upcoming Baeksang Arts awards. It looks like it's pretty short -- 12 episodes of only 30-35 minutes each -- so might be worth checking it out? (It's the only one of the best drama nominations I haven't seen).
