So.. on paper, this show has a bunch of tropes that I would typically be quite happy to lap up: mistaken identity, contract marriage, and the melting of the ice prince male lead.
But.. somehow, just based on the promos alone, this one isn't tickling my fancy, so far.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that I've been recently underwhelmed by male lead Ahn Hyo Seop in Lovers of the Red Sky? Or, maybe it's got something to do with how the story doesn't seem to have its own fresh take on the tropes? It feels kind of same-old, same-old to my eyes right now. Or, maybe it's a bit of both things.
Still, never say never? It could end up being fantastic, right? And, I do have a positive impression of female lead Kim Se Jeong, from her outing in The Uncanny Counter.
You really never know, until the show itself airs. Plus, Show is only 12 eps instead of the usual 16, so there's a possibility it will be tightly written, which is always a plus.
Show will air on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 21 Feb to 29 March, on SBS and Netflix.
