Our year-end guest post project: working out details!
Added 2021-12-03 16:31:48 +0000 UTCHey dear friends!
Thanks to everyone who responded to my previous post, asking if you guys would like to turn your year-end picks into guest posts for the main blog!
Who's playing?
So far, these are the people who've expressed that they're game to give this a go (thanks to MC for this summary!):
1. Shahz
2. Jennifer (also ok to do shared post)
3. Lois
4. Trent
5. MC (probably a shared post)
6. Martina
7. Elaine
If anyone else is keen to join, please let us know in the comments!! You can opt to do a solo post, or partner one of the people on this list who've expressed they're open to doing a shared post!
That said, the posts don't have to be super long, so don't feel pressured to do a shared post just because you feel you watched fewer shows!
Additionally, you can create a separate section, to give shout-outs to shows that didn't air in 2021, but which you watched and would like to talk about!
Content
Here's Shahz's list, which I've copied from the Spoiler-free zone, for your easy reference!
Introduction: Tell us something about yourself, like how you got inducted into the Kdrama world, the shows you tend to like, and you can also talk a bit about how you like the Patreon experience (thanks to Shahz for the idea!)
1. Your top 10 shows ranked in order if possible.
2. Best Female Lead ( include show)
3. Best Male Lead ( include show)
4. Best OTP
5. Best supporting actor ( Female)
6. Best supporting actor ( Male).
7. Razzie Award for the worst show or the show that promised so much but delivered so little.
8. Best original score ( for you Jennifer)
9. Best original song (for Jennifer again!)
10. Best Drama ( should be able to see from point 1 but worthwhile having a separate category)
11) Hidden gem the show you loved and you wish others knew about.
12) Definite rewatch (NEW!)
13) Best ensemble (NEW!)
* You don't have to limit yourself to Korean dramas; Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese, and any other Asian dramas count too!
Logistics
I think the easiest way to get your posts to me, is for you to email your posts to me in Word format, with your screenshots or other pictures as attachments to your email. You can indicate in your Word document, where the various screenshots should appear. I will then assemble the post, based on your Word document. Does that make sense?
YouTube links: You can just copy and paste those into your Word document; once I pop it into a draft on WordPress, it'll automatically embed the video into your post!
Schedule
MC made a good point, that perhaps spreading out the various guest posts would be better, since not everyone visits the blog daily.
Here are some dates that you guy can volunteer for!
Note: these are the dates when the posts would go live on the main blog, so your posts would need to be finalized before that. I suggest sending your final draft to me 3 days before the post goes live, so that we have time to get it properly sorted and ready to go.
Possible Dates
I've picked a handful of possible dates that we can aim for, let me know which one works for you, and I'll update the post with your names as we go! If these dates don't work, or we need more dates because more people would like to join, just let me know!
*I've added more dates, so that there's room to choose - and also, room for more folks to join in!
12 December: Shahz
13 December: Jennifer
14 December
17 December
18 December
19 December: Trent
20 December: Elaine
23 December
24 December: Martina
26 December: Lois
Poll: Community Drama Awards
Shahz suggested this amazing idea, that based on the various gems highlighted in the guest posts, we could run a poll where everyone in the community gets to vote for Best Drama, Best OTP, etc.
I can work on that, for after all the guest posts have gone live!
Let me know if I missed out anything! Thanks again for being excited to do this, everyone.. this really is getting quite exciting! π€©
