Announcement: I'm dropping Oh! Master

Hi my dear friends,

I wanted to let you know that I've decided to drop Oh! Master, after 9 episodes. The Dropped post will be up on the blog in about 12 hours (8am my time), and the show that I've chosen to replace Oh! Master here on Patreon, is Doom At Your Service.

The episode notes for E1 of Doom At Your Service will also be up tomorrow in about 12 hours (8am my time).

I thought I'd just give you all a heads-up first. 😊

Thanks again for being here, you guys are the best!

Hm.. sounds like some odd writing choices.. I'm surprised to hear that Bi Soo's mom died off-screen, when her illness and prognosis was such a key part of our story. I have to wonder what writer-nim was thinking, making these choices for our characters. πŸ€”

The last 15 minutes are worth watching, primarily as it is to do with Joo In’s reflections and maintaining Bi Soo in her heart. The scenes immediate to Bi Soo’s disappearance were well done, in that our leads got to spend some wonderful moments together, or did they? Bi Soo at the appointed hour, just disappeared. They treated his mum the same. No harrowing scenes, her death just happened without us bearing witness to it.

After the multiple comments from people telling me I did the right thing, I went to take a look at Show's last 15 minutes, since they are so infamous, and, I can only say, I'm glad I didn't stick with this one to the end. That was a weird direction to take, and even if they'd wanted to go all deathy on us, why the disappearing thing?? Too weird. πŸ€ͺ That said, Show did have more redeeming qualities than most folks give it credit for, so I'm with you on the low-but-not-scathing score!

Thank you for the heads up kfangurl. Well, I went through to the end. I did fast forward though Ep13, it was so negative. Then Ep14 came back with a vengeance only to see Ep 15 be very up and down. I found the final episode didn't quite work for me. I understood what they were trying to do with all the introspection, but... Anyway, Nana didn't miss a beat. Lee Min Ki continued to deliver, despite the Catch 22 we saw his character become. So, my final score was low for me, but not anywhere near as scathing as many others.
