2021.09.20 Adventures in 3D backgrounds continued...

So, as I mentioned in a previous post I'm looking to add some 3D elements into the animation workload. No, we are not going full 3D but I would not mind some TASTEFUL integration of things like buildings and machinery into the 2D pipeline. This is nothing new folks - animation has been long using 3D items (from rotoscoping to full 3D stuff).

I'm experimenting and seeing where it can take us. Mostly, it would be something to help offload some of the work when it comes to the more complicated items like full on cities and big moving mechanicals.

I don't know where it will land us but my intent is to keep giving you MY BEST art and animation. I love drawing 2D animations. I love drawing 2D comics and that is not changing anytime soon!

Thank you for your support and check out this test shots.

Enjoy and talk with you soon!

Thanks - I want to make things fun and doing 3D has some advantages. I feel as long as there is some restraint and it works within the needs of the scene it's fine. Appreciate the comment!

Yes, 2D drawings and 2D animations are what everyone is used to, but I'm also glad that you don't stop there and try to experiment with 3D as well.

Yep, it's a process and I'm not looking to flip a switch to an all 3D Patreon. Mostly, my intent is to maximize my time so I can bring YOU and all the rest of my friends and fans my best. My motto is always - give you MORE than your money's worth! I want you all to have the best I can bring you.

If 3D settings make things easier for you, that's a win-win. Good job on explaining that you aren't going full 3D as well. Such a thing would be a massive undertaking. Years would be needed and even that might not be enough to convert your art to being full 3D. Some things just can't transition to 3D with the same effect. This has been tried for many years in animation.
