2021.08.25 Quick Update about the Patreon and YOU

Hello everyone!

Welcome to a long and rambling update of our Patreon and where things are heading. This update will involve an early look at the recent animation tier polls as well as thoughts I’ve had on how we can make even more art and animation for you. It's in sections in case you want to jump to the bits you care about.

I say it throughout this update but there are a few ideas below that are just that – ideas. I would love to see things materialize and I will do what I reasonably can to bring in your ideas and suggestions.

So where are we going?

First off, I need to start with a huge thank you to each and every person here. The patron has been an incredible experience because of you. I would not be here making this art unless I had your support. Thank you so, so much!

Over the next few months, I will be looking at the ideas you might have. Furthermore, I will be looking to bring more people to the Patreon by giving peaks at the movies we have been making. I think what will happen is we make some of the earlier work available publicly with a focus on getting people interested in what we have now. More support can allow me to bring in people to help production; this could be writers, voice actors and people to help with the animations. Heck, I might dive into doing 3D animations (don’t hold your breath!! Haha)!

How YOU can help (if you want)!

One thing you can help with is spreading the word about our Patreon. I consider positive word of mouth the HIGHEST rating one can give to friends. When you recommend something to your buddies it means so much more than any ad. I work hard to bring you the best value I can, if you agree and want to help – tell a friend! You can make a difference and more support means MORE art and animation for YOU!

Animation tier related

The recent poll for the animation tier is still running but I’m seeing an exciting trend happening. One is an interest in a one person (or very focused) transformation movie. I love it! It’s been spoken about before and personally; I think we’ll probably pull the trigger on it. Details to come but I want to put that out there for the people interested. Will it happen next month or the month after? I don’t know at the moment and I don’t want to promise an exact date but I do like the idea!

Another popular vote-getter is voice acting! Again, this is another one of those additions we’ve spoken about before. I’m going to look into this one. I have ideas for voice actresses. I agree this would be a fantastic addition to our animations. I won’t set anything in stone at the moment because I just don’t know enough about availability or the impact on our existing schedule.

I’ll talk more about the overall direction of the Patreon further down but I wanted to get those two out-of-the-way since they seemed extremely popular.

A BE/GTS/FMG Transformation Game or Comic made by Ready Art!

Hey, I cannot deny this one would be incredibly fun to make. I’m going to do a little high level looking into this one. I don’t know much about the logistics and what your expectations might be in terms of playing the game. By this I mean would it be played mostly on PC, on Mac, or maybe even on your phone? There are a lot of great game engines out there that allow it to happen on all those systems. In an ideal world you would be able to get a Ready Art game and play it wherever you wanted. That said, this is a whole new direction and as exciting as it sounds, I don’t want to overpromise anything (there’s that phrase again). It's important for me to honor the promise of the Patreon. That promise is to bring you comics and animations. Anything like a shift towards making a game, would have to be carefully considered.

I put the idea up there for a game or motion comic because I want to evolve the Patreon in logical and fun ways. It’s been evolving since day one and I hope you agree it’s been improving too.

Bringing you new ideas

Any time we add something really big to the Patreon we are likely talking about reducing some other aspect of the Patreon. I’m only one person doing this. People like Solstice have been so helpful and so instrumental in getting me to do new things. At the end of the day, I’m the main creator behind the comics and animations which are the primary rewards of our Patreon.

One thing I’d like to be able to do is shift to delivering more content through my main website. I might have mentioned before but I’ve considered putting the movies there for you to download. Possibly even stream them! My main concern is movies are high-bandwidth affairs. Even though I pay for a good connection to keep things speedy, I don’t know how hosting movies or large downloads would play out. Still, I’m always looking at options for you.
