2020.09.10 Ready's Ramblings Episode 016

Well, your old pal Ready had one of those eye-opening moments we get from time to time. Last week one of my hard drives took a dive. Thankfully this one had a bunch of old movies and REALLY old program backups from 2005 or so. Basically, nothing on the Patreon or the Ready Art Zone was affected. I think the eye-opening part was I’ve had several drives fade out over the years and it’s always been a gradual process which I’ve been able to recover data from. This time it was a straight dive with NO recovery. 

I already back things up often but I will be adding another layer of security to the RaZ offices. Thanks to your help I was able to replace the old drive and had things back up and running in short order. I will also be adding another small backup server to keep a local copy of my main work files. The idea here is to keep things running through all manner of hiccups and keep getting YOU more art and animation. 

Your support has seen me be able to upgrade the main office computer which means MUCH faster movie creation and compiling. I’ve added more storage space for all the new animations. I’ve made some judicial purchases of programs to aid in the art creation process. I have also been able to buy needed web server upgrades to keep the main site running SUPER smooth for everyone. A lot of this wasn’t a huge cost but it’s stuff I would not have done without your Patreon support. Previously it wasn’t that reasonable to upgrade my setup but with all our friends & fans here I felt it was more than appropriate to get the old computer rig spiffed up so YOU don’t see big delays when I create movies and art.

I wanted to take a moment to highlight this since YOU helped this happen and YOUR SUPPORT is what is powering a lot of the advances - the extra art, the increased animation production. That’s all because you are tossing in your hard-earned ducats and subsequently allowing me the time and space to improve my craft. On top of all that I am able to bring you art faster and more often!
