Yah, that's an interesting comment. Rest assured there is no pain associated with growing out of clothes, armor, rooms or in space in the GLab universe. It's mostly a visual thing and the 'in universe' explanation has been covered a few times. Short story, the growth is basically a protection field that allows people to live and be protected in otherwise unbelievable situations. haha (also, we don't want to hurt anyone especially the ladies)
