Feedback, moderation and more!

What I’m about to say is part of the signup package and it’s one of the cornerstones of our community here.

I love your feedback. You might not think it at times, you might wish I did more of X drawing or Y animation but know I do CARE and work hard to bring as many people the awesome art and animation they want. Can I do it all to each person’s tastes? Of course not, but I do my level best at all times!

Which brings me to feedback. Over the many years I have been running a site and been on the internet I’ve found the most useful feedback is when people tell me what they like versus what they don’t like. When I know what you want, I have a clear idea what to aim for. When I know what you DON’T want, I only know what to avoid (if that makes sense).

There are many, many ways to send me feedback and the best one is really my e-mail granitelog(at)hotmail(dot)com 

I do my best to listen and reply to every person who comments or mails me. I work to be as helpful as I can. Still, at the end of the day there have been times where I look at a discussion and realize it’s fallen out of the 'useful' category. Perhaps it's broken the terms, perhaps it's treading the same ground over and over. This can be a discussion between website users, between people on various social media interacting with me or even a well-intentioned fan conversing with me about ideas or concerns. On occasion I will exercise my privilege as the Admin of our Discord, Main Site and Patreon to moderate a discussion until I feel there is some useful new information. 

I understand people want their right to express any opinion at any time. I get it. I also know we need guidelines to keep a basic level of order. If you check here and the Patreon I have a pretty clear ruleset of no politics, racism, harassment, or drama in the discussions. Basically, we are working to keep the place positive.

My point in all this? Well, my overarching goal is to create a fun place where people can come and share helpful ideas. I would love to think we might have the NEXT BIG ARTIST or WRITER or perhaps we are spurring someone to create their own work. For this to happen I will do everything I can to encourage the building up of our community. The price of this is keeping our manners civil at all times.

I’d like to think we have come pretty far and I hope together we can go even further.
