A great set of episodes! The dodgeball part is always the highlight of the GI arc for me - it really shows the friendship between Gon and Killua, though at this point I feel like it raises some red flags, like how Killua is so self-sacrificial when it comes to Gon, and how Gon is willing to sacrifice anything in order to win (Killua's hands in this case). It really struck me as alarming during my first watch as this is quite different from the typical shonen protagonists who tend to search for an alternative to defeat an adversary or they would often be seen to be struggling emotionally if they find out what they are doing is harming their friends, but Gon showed none of that (he appears to have more trust in Killua's abilities than worrying for him). But not that I would blame the boys since they're still so young, so this is essentially something like a process for them to discover themselves and re-evaluate their own values in life. On a side note, I'm glad we're allowed to simp over Hisoka here, my man acts like a psycho most of the time so at least let us fawn over his naked body when he's just showering and being harmless 🤣

Yeah I knew Gege said he was really inspired by HxH which was awesome to see and I love when mangaka talk a lot about their muse because sometimes it becomes really obvious and other times its a little more subtle haha. I also really loved these eps a lot!

Is that even necessary? 😩 (i'm not complaining tho 😌) I really love these eps! One of my fave parts from the entire series! Also, there's no confirmation that Togashi is inspired by DBZ (or none that I remember), but I get what you're saying with the aura and the final forms. He did that a lot with Yu Yu Hakusho too. On the other hand, Gege did confirmed that YYH and HxH are one of his inspirations for JJK!

Although I also love how HxH's fandom (including me) are well-aware of how thirsty we are about those two, Lol. Oh, and I think Lok missed the funny part where Gon and Killua's eyes following Hisoka's "excited" part. I'm sorry my humor is so broken.

(Probably because of the massive sports fan in me...) Also really like Hisoka as a character, especially in this arc, his nonchalant demeanor just draws me in. He's just a chill guy, except for when he is not... -_-
