Yo wtf, those are sharp ass forks. My fork would've bent already with all those stabs lmaooo Nah bc that captain was sus from the beginning. Especially how he was questioning Junho at that restaurant early on. Great acting. imo Season 2 is so much better than the 1st. How that old man survived is BEYOND me but I guess they need a voice of dissent for next season. That Inho face reveal is gonna be CRAZY

And ALSO??? Just killing Nayeon's dad off like that??? After all the tension and worrying about him the whole season? Just to off him that way is CRAZYYYYYYYY. I'm not opposed to him dying, but I would've thought it would've been more meaningful?? (And I was lowkey shipping him and Hyunju) Unless, he's not dead but injured??? Hmmmm.

Also, I'm coming back to say, Gihun being willing to sacrifice people up for his plan to work feels SO out of character for him? This whole show they've shown us how Gihun is different, Gihun wouldn't sacrifice anyone for his goals. That was his main conflict with Sangwoo in the later episodes of season one. And even in this season, he fought with the people who wanted to keep his knowledge of the games from the others because he wanted to help EVERYONE. So to see him say that he's willing to sacrifice not even the people on the opposing team, but the people on his OWN side who were innocent and wanted to leave is such a weird and jarring character decision for him?? Maybe it's to show that while he WANTS to be righteous and just, when it comes down to it he's not that different from the people he's fighting against?? And I would accept that except for the fact that they didn't build him up to that point. If anything, it would've been really interesting character wise to make him slowly start behaving in the same manner as those he criticizes and watch him struggle with his ideology once he realizes, but this instead feels like a complete character shift. If he was willing to leave people to die, then there was no reason for him to come back to the games. He could've went to spend time with his daughter instead. Idk, it's just been on my mind the last couple of days.

This season is also an 8/10 for me. Not as good as the first one, but I agree, it's still entertaining. I also really like the new set of characters. I hope they'll flesh them out more in the next season. I'm particularly curious about Dae Ho coz we didn't get any backtsory from him. Hyun ju is my favorite too. I wish she survives 😩 It's still crazy that hyun ju's actor is the guy in The Glory. Such acting range 😭 Kinda sad to see Na-yeon's dad got shot. Although my theory is he's not dead yet because we only see him falling from his knees. I feel like the triangle masked shooter is No Eul. With the ender like this one, I hope they release the next season like first or second quarter this year so as not for people to forget what happened in season 2. Given we didn't receive any conclusion from this season.

I'm so glad we're on the same page, lmao. I'm excited for your video!

If I didnt enjoy the show I wouldnt be watching reactions, but I do have some things that I didnt really like or liked less compared to season 1. First of all, all the scenes with the cop on the boat felt incredibly boring (besides the last one), its just the same thing over and over again. 2nd. I enjoyed the characters of the first season alot more. The dynamic and development between Sangwoo and Gihun was really interesting, also saebyeok was also a phenomenally written character. The characters in this season kinda just feel like stereotypes and they get little to no development. The first 2 build up episodes felt a little slow sometimes but overall were pretty good to get some background on the new cast. I feel like this season trys to focus more on politics amongst all the participants and less on the individuals, which isnt a negativ, i do like that. The games this season were really cool, I really liked mingle alot. I also like that inho is the new il nam but this time we know from the start and can observe on how he interacts and manipulates with the rest of the players. Overall I enjoyed the season. like others pointed out, it feels incomplete which makes sense cause it literally is, so im curious how its going to continue. 6.9/10 I think next season has the potential to be another 8-9 like season 1.

Really good scores Steph! I’m so glad to see you liked it as well! Some people on YouTube in the Korean space gave it below 5 and I was like nahhhhhh whattt 😟😟😟😟

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

i would give it a 9 or 9.5 and season 1 a 10. there wasnt much of a difference, to me, i like both seasons.

stephanie44

You’re right Steph! There is a third season dropping 2025 supposedly and that’ll be the final but yeah I can totally see how some people wouldn’t like the cliffhanger the way it was done. I think the issue with it for me is the suspense died a little with the surrender of the remaining combatants and also whilst Jung-bae dying was “significant”, I feel we didn’t spend enough time with him to care as much as opposed to if it was like Hyunju or even Junhee. Maybe that’s just me though and others thought that was great but it’s like the episode climaxed and then had time to let itself down before ending on a cliffhanger I was supposed to care about but didn’t really care for much 😟

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

not gonna lie, in most trilogys, season 2 is mostly my fav, the same with shows with more seasons, i never think season 2 is the weakest. i wasnt that bothered with the cliffhanger, since i have read before that this is like a part 1 and the next comes out in a year like that. still frustrating

stephanie44

This is really solid I think man!

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

Yeah absolutely feel the same. Kind of almost reminds me of how some animes end these days if you know what I mean? DanDaDan just ended on a cliffhanger but the next season comes in 7 months so I’m like 😬😬😬 ok 😬😬😬 and this is exactly the same 😭

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

Facts man! Glad to hear you vibed it

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

Want to know something absolutely CRAZY? I’m writing that video now that I talked about last night, and the only “critique” I’m giving it besides the character building of some not feeling long enough is exactly that middle book syndrome. Get out of my head! 🥲🤝

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

I liked this season, I had a good time watching it, but yeah, it wasn't perfect. The weakest area being the end for me, tbh. This season feels... incomplete?? The ending feels as if it should be the middle of the season. This season ended with all of the threads still loose, and none that I can think of being wrapped up. The characters weren't as grounded or as in depth as last season, but I still liked them a lot. I would die for Hyunju and the mom. I think this season suffered from "Middle Book" syndrome. Where in a trilogy of books, the second book is always the weakest because the first installment has all of the introduction and worldbuilding and the third installment has the conclusion. And a lot of the time, writers get caught in the trap of using the second installment as all setup for the third, but the lack of any resolution leaves the audience unsatisfied. I'm not against cliffhangers, but they have to be done right. I personally don't believe in not making sure each part is resolved in a satisfying way. You can still leave loose threads to wrap up in the next season, but every installment should have its own arc and resolution. This is still a great show, though and I'm still looking forward to the last season. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

Mulandraa

Hate cliffhangers, but that was a great season. The twists, the turns, the betrayals... solid 8/10 for me as well. Not as much shock factor, but the commentary was great

GeminiLightning

I enjoyed the season, not as much as the first though, my main issue was the ending, it felt incomplete and not like a season ender, it felt more like a mid-season cliffhanger that will be picked up on in a couple weeks. Something about it just felt off to me.

My current theory for season 3 is that Junhee will make it to the final game, based on that scene with the shaman insinuating that Gihun was destined to save her. I also think Hyunju will make it along with those two, and she and Gihun will decide to sacrifice themselves for Junhee and her baby. Hyunju will die (as the shaman said), but before Gihun dies Junho and the assault team bursts in and saves them.
