Daaaaamn, all of that anger. Stomping on the bread saying you chose this, did he choose his path and find it bitter in the end. Death may have been a relief think about what he would have to do to get even the first job burning bodies.

2024-12-26 19:04:12 +0000 UTCRegarding the bread or lottery scene, I genuinely have a lot of empathy for those people and the decisions they made. I'm not a person who cares for gambling, but if I were placed in a situation like them to choose between the two, I would hesitate. Bread which could satiate me for a few hours, but my situation still remains the same, or the chance the completely change my life, but comes with the risk of getting nothing at all. Short term guarantee vs long term risk. I don't know what I would do personally, but I think when things are so bad and you're so desperate, you'd be willing to do anything to get out of it. Take any risk to get out of it. I know that's the theme of the show and I like how they reiterated it in this first episode of the new season, while also reiterating the cruelty of that choice and also the people who deal that choice, even in the name of "fairness." Also, Gong Yoo is so interesting in this role. He's so... silly?? Like, an absolutely unhinged and terrifying kind of silly, but silly nonetheless. "Picture perfect frivolity" with a murderous undertone, as Jujutsu Kaisen would put it. And I knew as soon as they were talking about one of them being married and the other officiating the wedding, one of them would be done for. Who knew I would end up feeling bad for the loan shark and thugs from season 1. Excited to watch this with you!
