1:30:20 Yeah man I KNOW! Ugh they're so fuckign cute I love how this drama balances everything that's going on. The pacing does so much for it, and god, overall the writing is just so good. We're at the end of '24 and these two slipped right in to best kdrama couple of the year slot! I almost wish this was 16 episodes long

I would be super interested in watching I am not a Robot, it was such a great drama, one of the very first ones that's gotten me super hooked on them!!

Rewatching this made me realise something.. until now, the show has made it a big deal that Saeon does not like fish, even spitting out the fish he was forced to eat. But in the flashback he happily ate it with who I think we all theorise to be our Saeon's real dad. There's definitely some emotional trauma that made Saeon not want to eat fish... but all in all, the details in this show is insane. Hopefully it only gets better from here

My whiteboard exploded from all the secrets in this episode but my saving grace was the love of my core couple and the writing and acting skills of YYS & CSB. One thing I’ve always been leery about in dramas is emotional trauma and the effects it has in relationships and whether it’s reflected ‘accurately’ once they are in relationships. I think that’s why this episode stuck out for me so much, CSB is fighting against internal demons that were given to her as a child and cripple her from believing she’s worthy of love. I was shocked and pleased to see they didn’t drop that thread in this episode. Now onto the secrets I’m still pretty much believing that Mom’s the mastermind but there are still puzzle pieces that need to fit whatever happens next this has definitely been a great one

Lizbeth Perry

Yeah, he was one of the main characters

Ooooh thank you so much for this! Seo Hyunjin being in it is a huge bonus to watch as well!

:O You're a lefty too?! Me too! Yeah, writing with the right hand is absolute ass for me, and it's something lefties have historically been persecuted for. Left handers, especially in Korea are pretty rare, and those who are naturally left-leaning are "corrected" because they need to be "normal". Crazy indeed that he even had to change that to appear more proper for his "family" who aren't even his family. Great spot Rora!

It's crazy how this drama has me in a puddle on the floor one moment watching their scenes and in the next in a full Sherlock mode. And I have to say it's an absolute pleasure watching along with you. Your inputs relating to the language and culture have only made this a more amazing experience. <3

Lola

Thanks so much for the recommendation Helen!!

Thanks so much Sunny! I didn't know he was in Reply 1994!

Thanks for the hospital playlist rec man!

Sangwoo definitely just needs clarity and information and he'll change his tune for sure.

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

Yeah man I'm pretty much on the same wavelength! There are coverups on coverups and remember the contract that Chairman Hong has with the Baek family too. There is definitely manipulation going on, and the actual kidnapper (the one we see) seems to be the most easily led. He's emotionally fragile, easy to anger, and seemingly really easy to manipulate too. The question on my mind moreso now is the scale of the accident, the semantics of this relationship between these two families and WHY they had to go to such insane lengths to deal with their issues. Grandpa definitely wasn't a good guy and the drowning incident is proof of that for sure. He did everything except for the presidency. Why? Why was he incapable? What kind of inferiority complex does he have about that and to what lengths will he go to to make sure his family and name sit in office? Really, it could be anything fr man. Even if it means switching family, keeping others quiet, covering up crimes, messing children up, it seems we've done everything and anything. I think the author is throwing us with Sang-woo, and In-ah now is definitely an ally. I think she might not really like Sa-eon or his family, but as long as Heejoo is happy, she'll be cool I think. As for the parents, Dad is a fucking dumbass, Mum is working directly against him so could be enabling things to happen, but I still think Park Dojae is a good candidate for the traitor / accomplice. He knows Sa-eon almost as best as family, but there is definitely someone close-ER within the family working against them and like you, I think that is mum fr

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

Yeah I'd noticed this during editing and thought it was super sus too! I'm trying so hard to cope I think on this idea that "so many people could have white shoes!" but in the end I'm just suspicious of literally everyone now LMAO. I reckon his own investigation could lead him there for sure, but yeah him being the accomplice or him being involved doesn't make sense for sure. I'm guessing maybe he might have visisted the fisherman earlier and it's a bait so the "real" Saeon came afterwards? Or not? Idkkkk fr this is wild indeed

LKTV 록희 ロッキー

I think I noticed something, but I am not sure. In that scene where the fisherman is preparing to run, someone steps into his store and that person is wearing white shoes/sneakers. I've noticed Sang-woo wearing white shoes in that car chase scene... It's possible that his own investigation somehow led him there, because him being the bad guy doesn't really make a lot of sense. But just the fact he went to see the fisherman... Just, why? And how did the bad guy know to set his place on fire on the day he made the call? Park wasn't aware of what was on that note... or did he somehow tap the office/office phones etc?

Lola

I think I figured how all of these people are connected. The "real Sa-Eon", the missing case, the twins and the Hong family. I think one of the twin is being manipulated by a false information and thinks that our Sa-Eon is the killer of his brother and wants revenge. The accident the Hong were in was caused by Grand Pa who was trying to cover his real grand son crimes before the switch with our Sa-eon, maybe Hee Joo's brother saw something. Reason why he has a free will wish. I still don't know who in the family is the traitor. I don't think Ina or Sangwoo are in it. Sa-Eon's dad looks too stupid to do such things, so my bet is still on mom.

Will Zertit

I also recommend Dr Romantic Teacher Kim S1 낭만 닥터 김사부. It's my favorite YeonSeok drama all time, his character in here and the drama itself is just a chefs kiss. It starred Seo HyunJin (The Trunk FL) and Han SeokKyu as well.

Rora

I totally agree with this!

Rora

Yo one thing I noticed it might not be a big deal, but I’m gonna say it anyway. Back when SaEon was with his 'real' dad the fisherman dude, he was totally left handed. But when he got to the Paek family, I think they made him switch to his right hand. And as someone who’s left handed too, lemme tell you being forced to use your right hand is straight up the worst. I went through that as a kid as well and man, it was hell. Like that small detail probably messed him up big time. Imagine everything in your life being fake even the way you eat. Bruh that’s next level frustrating.

Rora

I recommend watching Dr. Romantic if you want to watch more of Yoo Yeonseok’s dramas. This one is definitely my favourite!

Helen

I have given up on who the bad guys are there are too many for various reasons. Allies and possible allies In A, Sang-woo (the other twin?), and I'm bringing back Do-jae because yes he is too good but isn't Yeung-u too bad? Do-jae reminds me of military special ops or the journalist that went right into the firefight to get the story much like the reporter said Sa-eon did. How do they get them out of that place I don't think the kidnapper is one that set the fire the one ine charge did. So what did he lose? Another thing what happened to these three kids that they don't even seem to know. Why do I have such a bad feeling about the grandfather? There were four missing boys they all went to that house and never were seen again except Sang-woo he with the white gym shoes. I overthink and rewatch, the silhouette doesn't match any of the villains I already picked including Sang-woo.

September

The scene where Sa-eon and Hee-joo talk under the street light was perfection. I can't remember the last time I watched something so emotionally powerful. Many K-dramas are sad or even tragic, but most of the time, the acting just doesn't quite hit me in the feels as much as it probably intended to. It's not the actors' fault. Directing, lighting, music—all of that play big roles in emotional scenes, and sometimes, it just doesn't fit. The chemistry and acting also play a big part and Chae Soo-bin and Yoo Yeon-seok are just phenomenal! So far I must say that this drama really blows me away. I was unsure at the beginning if I'd like it. Having watched hundreds of K-dramas means you almost saw everything at this point, but this one managed to surprise me. The suspense is killing me and I hate waiting to find out what happens next 😭

nal (jjinjjin)

I just started watching, but since you're asking about Yoo Yeonseok's roles my favorite dramas with him are Reply 1994, Mr Sunshine and Hospital Playlist.

RisingSunbebe

I am so excited to see how the last four eps turn out. The world is not ready for the two of them together. I also don't think that Sang-Woo is a bad guy, just a good guy who happened to like Hee-Joo in the past. Hopefully he'll come over to our side, too and fall for Gyu-Ri instead. Add in the fact that In-Na is definitely on the side of Hee-Joo, and the team of supporters is really coming together.

GeminiLightning

Hospital Playlist is a must if you want more Yoo Yeon-Seok. It also has Jo Jung-Suk (Gummy's husband), Kim Dae-Myung, and Jeon Mi-Do, who is one of my favorite actresses. Very slice of life drama in an ICU ward.
