2024-12-29 10:53:06 +0000 UTCI’ve got you - there won’t be a season 2 because this was the end of the Webtoon. It was pretty short, but Kang-Full’s universe is quite large so things could happen. At the end of Ep. 8, characters from Moving (which is getting a season 2) and Timing (the next Kang Full drama hopefully coming) appeared. For Jiyoung, she is haunting him, but not haunting him because she feels vengeful towards him. She is vengeful towards his mother and the way that she died as she realised afterwards that she didn’t have to die at all. In a lot of Asian folklore but especially in Korea, if you commit suicide, you sever the red string of fate, and you are not remembered by your loved ones as kind of like a punishment. This is why he can’t remember her back in this world, but in the afterlife (the world where the light shop exists), he knew who she was. In the end, she chose to continue wandering because she couldn’t reconcile herself with the tragedy of her death and the tragedy of their love so she’s hoping (in vain), that by wandering with him, she’ll eventually see him remember her. Yeah I’d boil Hyunjoo’s actions down to her just being a little ditsy and forgetful so she didn’t remember to look for people out of place. That said, it seems that advice only really applies in the other world though as those individuals can harm you (in the precipice world). Detective Yang chose life which is why he woke up, but he too remembered the afterlife world and chose to confirm whether or not the Jjajangmyeon guy was real. The shop owner turned out to be a grim reaper who tries to help souls wandering on earth back to the afterlife, which is why he was in pursuit of that woman in episode 3. Now detective Yang has taken his position and is a human grim reaper that has the ability to send wandering spirits to where they need to go 😊

2024-12-29 10:48:35 +0000 UTCI have a couple of thoughts I hope someone can speak to. It bothers me that Ji Yeong is hanging over Hyeon Min seemly haunting him. She says she wants to hear him Say her name. This is what bothered me the most with them he had never heard her speak in the living world so to hear her in the afterlife in an of itself would confuse him. His memories of her will be silent. I don't think she is becoming vengeful she is vengeful the text was not from him but I think she took it as being so. Hyeon Ju did not get treated for dilerium so she would remember but forgot that she needed to really look at those that look out of place. A ghost followed her home. Then did detective Yang choose death or is he both and looking for vengeful ghosts? Is this all a set up for season 2?

2024-12-22 15:09:16 +0000 UTCThis is also my kdrama of the year 😭 (altho i've only seen two kdramas this year. the other one is Queen of Tears 🤣🤣 BUT STILL!) This is a work of art indeed 🥺 The Wonyoung and Yuhui reunion scene made me burst into tears. Great acting from both actors!! But Hyunju and Yuhui's farewell scene had me bawling . I feel like if I'm in Hyunju's shoes, I would've want to stay with my mom too 😭 I am really sad for Hyungmin and Jinyoung tho. They didn't get the closure they deserved. But I kinda saw it coming knowing how Jinyoung died so tragically---I have a feeling she'll turn into a vengeful spirit. But how I wish she haunts Hyungmin's mom instead. I didn't get the after credits scene until I read people's comments coz I haven't seen Moving yet. But because I really love Light Shop, I might binge Moving soon. Thank you so much for the reactions, Lok. I discovered this gem because of you.

I'm so sad for Jiyoung and Hyungmin, I figured some of them would not have a proper closure and a sad ending but man... My only hope is that since universe are connected we will see them again where they will be able to have a closure (and more Seolhyun in dramas, please Korea send her some scripts)
