Additional shows / movies / genres?

If you haven't had a chance yet to look at the recent post which is the watchlist for this month then click here but this post is just regarding some additional types of shows and content I've been thinking about bringing over here and I wanted to see what you thought.
To cut to the chase, it's no lie that Asian media and our collective love for / interest in whether it be Korean or Japanese music, movies, dramas or anime has brought us together, but something that has been on my mind for a while is the question:
"What about WESTERN media?"
I'm not really the type of person who's SUPER into Western media honestly, because movies generally lost their charm for me some time ago, and I'd fallen out of some TV shows quite a while back and never truly got back at all.
That said though, there are plenty of shows (PLEASE don't kill me for those I'm about to mention lmao) that I haven't watched, and seeing how I've really enjoyed venturing into longer shows like One Piece and Naruto over here which I never thought I'd watch and also some dramas, I thought "why not then? why can't this work?"
Some of the shows / franchises I'm talking about here are:
Lord Of The Rings (I haven't seen it 😭)
Game Of Thrones (the classic ol' One Piece problem: by the time I was interested there was too much to catch up on)
Avatar The Last Airbender (not an anime but more of a Western animated TV show, I was a Cartoon Network and Disney Channel kid, not Nickelodeon)
and more!
I'm also here to see whether you guys would be interested as well in more movies in general (Korean, Western and Japanese) and also animated movies too say like the Ghibli movies. Spirited Away got a little love over here when we shared it but I didn't get a grasp really on whether you guys would be chilling with that too.
So if possible, let me know below!
Would you be interested in content like this also? (yes I'm going to do it because I want to if / when I want to, but tell me what YOU think!)

As long as you know what you're getting into re: GOT (as in, content-wise, not necessarily writing, which is a different story lmao), I'm all for it! I'm also more than happy to offer recs if you'd be open to it and give me some guidelines to work with!

2024-07-31 00:39:10 +0000 UTCI’m not sure what your tastes are…but out of the three things you listed…Lord of the Rings is a classic and needs to be watched lol. Also if you like the Karate Kid movies, then Cobra Kai is a good series on Netflix to watch…new season was just released.

Don't let peoples disappointment of the ending put you off, while it was rushed and could have been done better, it was still entertaining and worth watching. And the first 4-5 seasons are some of the best tv ever made imo.

And if I may recommend, you should watch Cyberpunk Edgerunners on Netflix by Studio Trigger, very good mix of Western writers and Japanese animators and only 10 eps. Won Anime of the Year too!
