*August Update*

Hey Gearheads!

July was super productive after getting the Patreon and public releases knocked out early I was able to explore other avenues a bit more than usual.  Support levels took a slight dip, but hopefully, the Android 18 release and the new gaming stuff will help draw some more attention.

The Android 18 animation is coming along nicely.  We've finished the first two scenes and started on the third.  Once the third is done we'll be reaching out to Pixie again to get lined up for the voice. Before we'd been pre-booking the time, but she likes to have all the files in hand at the time of booking, so we'll avoid any conflicts this time around.

We've started testing VR capabilities for the website.  The initial test didn't go too well, but it lead to some new discoveries so we'll keep pushing forward on that.  The main thing here is that the Website dev is the driving force here, instead of me fumbling around in the dark.

I was able to a unity build working.  I'm remembering what some of the old struggles with Unity were, like Aliasing and the import processing screwing up the animation, but it's something you guys wanted so I'm happy to do what I can to get what I can working.  I'm not 100% happy with the quality, especially on the first test of the Quest standalone version.  I think at this point we can do a lot better than that in Blender, but it's a step forward.  If I have time I'll see how it plays in Unreal as well.  If it's more stable there, we might switch to that for the one-shots.  Either way, Adamar, the animator of our Unity POV content has lots of new animations we can try out in Unity, so I'm def. looking forward to that.

If I can keep the current momentum going by knocking out the weekly releases early, then I'll def. have time to do that experimenting with Unreal.  If I can get a good workflow going then I could start converting previous animations for full 360 viewings as well.  Unreal's Metahumans also opens up some really cool possibilities for character animation with lip sync.


Once again thank you guys for another awesome month!  We've been progressively kicking things into high gear and adding to the goodies you guys get and have to look forward to at all levels.  This month should be pretty awesome as well.
