2024-05-27 19:04:01 +0000 UTCLEZZGOOO GEAR 4TH!!! Cabbage became one of my favorite characters here in Dressrosa. I agree with you how the side characters are not only side characters, they got depth and complexity with them. I think it's very common for a shonen animanga to create side characters and use them as a plot device only. I mean, nothing's wrong with that. But with Oda, you can see how he really took time and effort to develop his side characters--giving them interesting quriks, morals, and some even have backstories. And yes, that's why they feel more real because all of Oda's characters are very three dimensional. Another thing I love about Oda is the way he uses his characters. Like for example--Mr. 3. After the Little Garden arc, I thought we will never see him again. He seems like a very disposable character for me. But boom! Marineford happened and he became the key (literally) in freeing Ace. And I love how Oda put some depth in it too. Mr. 3 helped Luffy because he witnessed Bon Clay's sacrifice. It's one of those small moments that hits deep--just like how Cavendish refusing to leave Law. Oda's such a genius storyteller. Thank you Lok for noticing these tiny details too! Enjoyed your reactions as always!

Yeah annoyingly, anytime a popular anime has a major power up or character death, it's quite hard to avoid spoilers for it unless you literally live under a rock without technology and don't interact with anyone lol
