watching back through some of these OP reactions and man I forgot how much Kuina's dad is unfortunately a misogynist and I wonder if that was just a product of Oda's upbringing or if it was intentionally written and it's something that will eventually get addressed (maybe with him losing again to a female swordsman) because after remembering this, there are some words and behavior from Zoro that always seemed odd to me but make sense now. Like being essentially raised by Kuina's dad as well as Kuina's sudden death probably raised him to view women as fragile which was reinforced by the dad. I just really hope that it was intentional and gets addressed at some point because the way Oda writes his female characters stories and moments in this journey it's easy to tell he does not view women this way so it would be weird if this Zoro viewpoint wasn't intentional. Especially with Sanji being right there as the other side of the coin, feeling he needs to protect women but for completely different reasons and having a completely different story/background to draw from.
