Update! 🐺 (This is a long one but please read!)

Hey folks, got some good and bad news. You may have noticed if you follow the stream alerts Telegram channel that yesterday’s art stream got postponed to today— that’s partially because I ran into some bad creative burnout lately. I had a feeling this would happen eventually and I finally hit that point about 7 videos into my patreon journey x’D

The good news though is that I do still have the motivation to create! If you don’t want to read this whole post, the tl;dr is that I’m still going to be making exclusive animated content and will also still be fulfilling tier rewards like streams, sketch requests etc so don’t worry I’m not going on hiatus or anything.

The problem currently is two things. First thing is I think I’m just burnt out on doing the same format of a 1-2 minute video a month when I often struggle to find an idea that inspires me enough to fill a video of that length.. and I tried fixing that by working with new characters, or by mixing up other elements like adding color, or doing the 2-part idea etc but regardless I’ve become less and less proud of the work I’m putting out over time. 

Overall I kinda feel like I'm sacrificing quality for length, which is something that I tried to fix by doing a 2-parter but that didn’t really work either because of the second problem: lack of investment in story ideas

I’m not really a writer and I began to realize it’s genuinely hard for me to come up with ideas that I actually care about enough to stretch into a ~2 minute production. To be honest I lost interest in the current storyline pretty quickly and forcing myself to finish it right now is really driving myself into a creative rut... September’s video is probably the video I’m the least proud of to date, which makes me even more reluctant to do part 2 at this point in time. 

I’ve been increasingly unsatisfied with my work since like, the one where Loup and Denni fucked in a closet (lol). I felt really invested in that specific prompt in a way I haven’t really felt since, and I felt like more heart went into that one than some of the others

I've always immensely appreciated the positive feedback I was getting and it truly kept me going at times, but I really feel like I can produce a higher quality of work and that less might be more. I aim for my future works to still feel intimate and character driven, just smaller productions

I talked about this a bit in the past when I took a poll on 1 longer story a month vs multiple shorter animations— '1 longer story' won the poll and as a result of that I wanted to avoid changing the format of things too drastically because I know people enjoy it as is— And I completely understand if people un-pledge due to me changing things up more/experimenting. But I think my work has suffered a bit due to me trying to maintain the longer format and that a change is needed to produce better work that I can be prouder of.

I probably will do some longer videos still, I really enjoy making them under the right circumstances!! But coming up with a story idea every month and sticking to it is proving challenging for me unless I feel really passionately about the idea... I think removing the pressure of that would help a lot! Again, if you’re not very interested in the other tier rewards + don’t really want to stick around during this experimental time I completely understand! But this is where I’m at currently

To recap (TL;DR again):

• I still want to create werewolf/shapeshifting/tf animations featuring lgbt characters & I aim for my future works to still feel intimate and character driven, just smaller productions. Some pieces will still have some character interactions & dialogue but with less focus on context/story.
• I will most likely start posting multiple smaller pieces instead of one large project at the end of the month. I want to do more colored animations again too!
• I'm postponing doing part 2 of the current storyline due to a lack of investment in the story idea; I might return to it at a future point in time
• I will still be fulfilling tier rewards etc, but I completely understand if you feel the need to un-pledge due to the change in format

(Btw: Commissions etc should not be impacted by this and I will probably be working on comms again during the stream later this afternoon! Keep an eye out for that around 2 or 3pm EST)
