Quick poll for everyone (update)
Added 2019-06-03 21:13:48 +0000 UTCEdit: ok so "1 longer animation at the end of the month" seems to be winning, which works out because today I randomly got an idea for a Hot Concept that I wanna try.. 👀probably using Denni and Loup again this time. So I'll stick with this format for now! I might alternate between doing 1 longer one vs. multiple shorter ones on some months, just to avoid artistic burnout (or if at some point I don't really have any ideas that work well as a longer thing?) If that makes sense, but yeah for this month I'll aim to do one longer one again 🐺👌🏽thanks for the feedback guys

This one's for all patrons:
So since I'm noticing it's a little hard right now for me to juggle full-length animations on top of commissions etc, and I usually wind up down to the wire and pulling all nighters by the end of the month, I'm considering for now switching to doing multiple smaller one-off animations throughout the month, instead of one big one at the end?
If I did multiple animations throughout the month they would probably mostly be loops and smaller scenes, but I could probably put a bit more care into each one? Because I wouldn't have to also do lead-ins, transitions, establish a scene, etc. But it'd probably be a similar amount of content overall. I'd still be doing streams for $10 patrons and taking sketch requests, etc.
I think I'm gonna try it out for this month at least, but I'd like to get you guy's thoughts on it!

The biggest difference is making it cohesive - a longer and more narrative/story oriented animation requires more storyboarding & planning etc, and usually more filler to be animated in order to give a sense of chronological events and pacing. I figure people like the longer ones too though, so maybe I’ll alternate!

2019-06-03 23:25:08 +0000 UTCForgive me, I unfortunately know nothing about animating. But, is there a difference between making several unrelated short animations as opposed to making one big one that's broken into small parts through the month? Would that be a plausible solution?

2019-06-03 23:20:27 +0000 UTCNope, none of the previous ones have been connected in a narrative type way, or a series... technically they're all little vignettes or one-offs, they've just been longer and more story focused so far. I do these somewhat for practice and somewhat just because it's the kind of content I enjoy/want to see but I don't really see it elsewhere that much, at least not animated... so I decided to take it upon myself to make it I guess haha

2019-06-03 21:57:19 +0000 UTCI guess it kind of depends. Are your animations part of a continuous story? Like, with two previous animations, I considered one a sequel to the other. First she gets a taste of the heat, then gets turned into one and has a lycanthorgy. If you do have a story you wish to tell, I'm fine with the one long animation. But, if you are more just doing these to practice or whatever, I'm fine with the short ones too.
