50 Patrons! Goal reached, but what next?
Added 2022-06-12 15:39:49 +0000 UTCWe did it, this month we reached our goal of 50 patrons!
What a fabulous and exciting way to start off the summer. I am so excited and proud of how this is all going so far, and extremely grateful you folks have been so generous and kind in supporting my work!
Thank you so much!
As some of you may have already seen, I have already started making my own assets as shown off in the newest Great Archive map! The 'Raising the B.A.R.' tier has some decorations - what we in the UK call bunting (little flags on a string) - decorating the main halls.
It was SO MUCH FUN to make this, although quite fiddly and definitely took extra time to do so. But the thought of me eventually making a bunch of my own assets and having my own style for the maps is pretty exciting!
But with that goal achieved, and learning that new skill underway, another needs to be set!
And so this is where you lot come in! What should we have as our next community goal?
Cast your vote below to determine what our next goal will be!
The options are
- Better VTT Support: Currently, some contet comes with text files to support the maps on virtual tabletops (VTTs). However, there are lots of walls, lights, windows and doors, that shouldn't exist in these files, and require work on your part to clean them up. I don't do the extra work cause it takes a lot of time, time I could be spending making more content. However, I'm happy to put the work in if the community wants this as our next goal.
- Extra Content: I've shown off some rollable tables, and even made the encounters a standard part of the monthly content I offer. But there's always little extra things I could add. This option would not be additional maps, but might be extra class options, tools for players, or for the GM, prompts, journals, essays, items, etc.
- Map Animation: This would be a whole new wing of map making for me, but one I think I could do regularly if I knew there was enough interest for it. The map animations wouldn't be anything drastic, they'd likely be atmospheric or lighting adaptations, and would probably be reserved for higher tiers due to the extra work involved. But animated maps do look pretty cool, and it's something I'm interested in, if you are.
And that's about it. I'm not sure what the threshold for this next community goal would be, and I think I'll judge that depending on what you lovely lot vote for.
I'm just excited we even reached 50, and in just a matter of several months! I didn't even imagine we'd get to that, and especially not so soon. I'll keep making new goals as long as there's a community to make them for.
Although. regardless of what the future is for this Patreon page, thank you all again for the amazing support so far. It means a lot.
