Hello all. Hope that you're doing well and had a good Thanksgiving. As always, I've been busier than heck between work, church, family and YouTube. I keep saying that I'm going to slow down but I don't think it'll ever happen. I'd get bored anyway.
Had an idea that I've been kicking around and thought that I'd float it by you all. I've done a few group meetups over the past few years at Gettysburg and I'd like to expand that into something bigger in different parts of the country. With the meetups, I want them to be something of value where people learn something and have a good time.
Here's the plan that I'm working on right now. I'm talking with the WWI Museum in Kansas City, MO about doing a one day event at their museum. It would be a symposia of sorts that would involve bringing in noted historians to give a talk on a certain subject, a panel discussion, admission to the museum with a bit of time built in to explore it together, some meet and greet time and a catered BBQ diner at the end of the day. I'd also like to bring in some other people in the YouTube history space to join in as well.
Now, to rent out the dang museum and have a catered dinner would definitely involve some cost so here are my questions:
1.) Does that sound like something that you all would find interesting?
2.) Would $125-$150/person sound like a fair price for all of the things listed above? I've also considered having another option that doesn't include the catered dinner for a lower price.
Ideally, I would like to do this on a Saturday sometime in the spring. If it goes well, we might try and expand it into something bigger in the future. Let me know what you think!
