Ultimate Paint Ranges Guide (Part 1) - V2.0

Here comes the completely revised version 2.0 of the first part of my ultimate miniature paint guide.

In this ten-page document you will find the quintessence of over 1000 miniature paints that I have tested and tried out so far. You will find the pros & cons of the most popular brands like Citadel Colour, Two Thin Coats, Vallejo Game Color (old & new range), Vallejo Model Color, and The Army Painter Warpaints, as well as my favourite colours from each, and which better to avoid.

Here is a list of changes of version 2.0:

Part 2 with even more paint ranges such as Scale75 and Reaper Master Series can be found here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/71457704

Ultimate Paint Ranges Guide (Part 1) - V2.0

Yeah, Scale 75 will be covered in part 2. One thing you have to keep in mind with Scale 75 acrylics are that there are multiple sub-ranges. There is the Scalecolor range with super matt paints (similar to Vallejo Model Color), while the Fantasy & Games range has a more satin and more scratch-resistant finish similar to Citadel, Vallejo, and the likes. I also really like their Aclhemy metallics with their super-fine pigments, especially Black and Thrash Metal, though I tend to use the metallics from Vallejo's Game/Model/Mecha Air ranges more often, plus a few of the better Citadel metallic paints, as the opacity of the lighter Alchemy metallics is a bit weak.

Very interesting. I saw Scalecolor was in the image but not touched on in this part of the white paper. My absolute favorite black is Scalecolor's "Matte Flat Black" and I think their metallics ("Black Metal", "Necro Gold", and "Victorian Gold") are if not the best, one of the best on the market. Like you, i like to mix and match my paints and ScaleColor does have a weird consistency that i think many may not like but something about how matte their colors are is really enjoyable to me.
