EVOLUTION OF BESTIARUM - CHANGES TO RELEASE STRUCTURE AND NEW TIERS
Many thanks for the amazing feedback we received from you all back in September!
With all that information in mind we’ve spent hours of meditation and beseeching the Dark Gods in search of wisdom and secret knowledge. Now we are ready to share our visions of the future with you all.
OUR AIM
We want you to be able to explore the mood and grimdark atmosphere of Bestiarum across a wider variety of game genres, not only DnD, but also Skirmish Games like Frostgrave or Forbidden Psalm, and War-games such as SAGA: Age of Magic, the Ninth Age and other systems. To achieve this, we are making some changes to our release structure moving forward.
Without further ado, here is our plan to achieve this:
REWORKING AND DEVELOPMENT OF EXISTING FACTIONS
We’ll be returning to previous releases and building these into more fully fledged factions. This will be achieved by expanding the unit rosters and delving deeper into their lore, offering many more opportunities to explore these threats across different game systems.
REVEALING NEW ADVENTURERS
We’ll be regularly creating new Adventurer sculpts as part of our monthly releases, unique and brave heroes from across the realm of Doaden. These will be great for Player Characters in TTRPGs, or as ragtag mercenaries or heroes in Wargaming systems.
NEW FACTIONS
We’ve got plenty more ideas we want to develop and work on, so you’ll still receive the same new and unique horrors you’ve come to expect from Bestiarum. These new factions will enter the rotation and eventually will have a chance to be developed further into fully fledged armies and threats for you to collect and build upon.
CONSISTENT UNIT SIZES AND STRUCTURES
As part of these changes, we’ll also be introducing more consistency in the size of our miniatures and bases to better fit the usual model size-profiles you see across most popular miniature games.
Everything will still fit the 32mm scale, but in order to keep everything useful across a variety of game systems we’ll be structuring our releases to be more relative to the ‘usual’ spread of Infantry, Creatures, Behemoths and Characters you see across TTRPG, Skirmish and War Games.
Fans of massive models don’t need to worry, we’ll still be making massive sculpts like the Giant Haast, but at a slightly slower pace to protect your monthly resin budgets!
NARRATIVE AND GAME SYSTEMS.
This coming December we are reintroducing DnD Adventure supplements! But it's not all, you’ll also be seeing gaming supplements for other games allow for even more game options.
As part of this general shift towards building upon our existing work, you can expect the narrative and adventure content to follow a more episodic style than you’ve seen previously. Lore and Faction revisits will build upon the concepts we’ve started to explore already and adventure content will be a self-contained part of a larger and ever-evolving world.
You’ll still be battling eldritch horrors and fallen gods, but the journey to reach them might take a little longer but be all the sweeter when you finally get the chance to defeat the foe once and for all.
NEW TIERS.
To support all those changes that come we’re also planning to introduce New Tiers in December. The Exact details are still under discussion but here is the overall idea:
Small Tier – Est. $5 .
Patrons who simply enjoy adventures in the grim dark universe of Doaden, or want to participate in Painting Contests, be part of the community or simply support Bestiarum.
Main tier - $10
For the lovers of our minis and those who are not interested in DnD or other game supplements. It will include all other rewards except Gameplay modules
All-In Tier - about $12 (it's actually Slayer Tier) It will remain as it is.
Merchant Tier - no changes are planned so far
These changes will begin to roll out starting this December, we’re really excited to share the new release with you, but for now, here’s some concept art – can you guess which Faction we’re starting with?
