FUTURE of BESTIARUM ║ YOUR Opinion Needed!
Added 2021-09-29 11:23:12 +0000 UTCGreetings friends!
It's a long post but please read it till the end and let me know your thoughts in the comments, your opinion is extremely important!
Also please LIKE THE POST so i know how many of you actually read it.
When i was starting this Patreon i had in mind just to have fun and sculpt several figures a month myself, but with time things changed: many of you joined our crusade into grim dark fantasy and now we release set after set each month. What is pretty cool :) Thank you for the support it became possible only with your support!
Now i feel we can push the limits even further and make actually a living and constantly evolving universe. It wont be easy, but moving step by stem big things can be achieved.
Patreon offers nice tools for it.
We are thinking to stop releasing a new theme each month. Why?
Note: Releases will be monthly but just not every time it will be a new fraction
Time factor: New theme a month makes pretty tough to tell the story of the new fraction and make it really alive. I have to cut plenty of cool ideas just to make sure we can handle it in the terms of one month release.
New fractions: Most of the times we are not speculating on already existing fractions from existing universes but trying to create our own with some unique lore and visual style.
It takes way more time then just rebranding based on existing lore :) having less fractions per year we would be able to make those more detailed and complex. With environment elements for your dioramas and games and nice roster of units to fit multiple needs.
Personal features: Another reason why its hard - I am perfectionist :)
Doing my best to push our figures and concepts at the highest level i can every month makes the development longer, plenty of reworks on the way till we get the things how i see them makes hard to release big sets in short time.
I want to focus more on Quality then on Quantity. To be proud for the content we release.
And another question what bothers me :
How many models we really need a month?
So what's the plan?
Aside adding new fractions monthly, we are thinking on starting reworking and expanding already existing sets, adding lore and new units with new variations.
No more new sets?
No way :) There are so many cool places and stories what are waiting to be told. New fractions will appear regularly, but maybe not monthly
Map
Really soon should appear map of our world and we slowly will start building it by discovering new locations and races. Already existing places may get a rework on lore to keep the consistency. Plenty of work ahead :)
Gaming system. Here we need your help!
Aside from lore and visual we need to start thinking on some rules or use already existing open rule sets so you can really dive deep into decaying Doaden world and be able to fight for your place in it.
At this point i would like to avoid creating brand new rules since its a pretty hard work, plenty of balancing and other stuff required.
I remember how much time we spent on it while i was Art director of Dark Gates games. We simply do not have resources at the moment to make it right.
What gaming systems you think can be used for our Bestiarum universe?
Please Share your thoughts in the comments, we will discuss those with the team
What about DnD?
DnD integration will stay for sure, hope in future we can add monthly encounters as well!
DnD DM Needed:
- If you are experienced DM and able to create grim and atmospheric adventures and dataslates in Doaden world on monthly basis please PM me.
Right now we need only Data slates but for the future i want to bring back our monthly adventures.
Fuf, that's it for now :)
Just to sum up:
- Please like the post if you read it
- Share your thoughts about Gaming systems that can work for Bestiarum
- Let me know if you like the idea with more refined fractions
- How big releases we actually need?
- Any other thoughts and suggestions?
- DnD DM needed
Thank you friends for taking the time to read all this.
Looking forward to your feedback!
Cheers, Alexei

Thought I'd just put I out there. But if you guys decided to do more scenic bases that would be cool.

2021-10-12 17:54:09 +0000 UTCI'm a bit late, but I just want to say I love the idea of expanding the factions you have already established, there are a few sets like the Gorgon Catacombs and Scrappers of Allstein that I would love to see expanded. As for gaming systems I personally don't like 5th ed DnD and I prefer to use either edition of pathfinder, but I'm aware that I am in the minority about that. I don't expect you to take the time to develop hard stat blocks for every system, since that way lay madness. As it is the description and individual characterization from the dataslates is fantastic, and is system agnostic so it's helpful for me!

2021-10-05 04:08:41 +0000 UTCWhile I like the culture behind your minis and the stories they tell, the real reason I support is because the amazing quality of them and the style of the artwork. And the kitbashing opportunities. I don't need much to be guided by others direction in their art, nor am I likely to use the stats and maps of the world you've made although they are really inspiring and interesting. I love your terrain and your minis as they are in whatever organization they're arranged in. Everything else is icing. Just keep making those, however your muse inspires, and I'll keep supporting.
2021-10-02 20:21:37 +0000 UTCLove the models so I'm on board with this new decision. Expanding already existing sets, that I would love to see. I play r&f games and kitbash let's me have a variety on those ranks.
2021-10-02 06:40:20 +0000 UTCHappy to continue support you whichever the decision ... Preference on my side is for kitbash kits to allow for larger regiments of rank and file, potentially mix and match-able with models from other studios. To that end, having more spectacular and different factions is less interesting to me than having interesting troop variants within the factions and more "human" factions to allow mix and match (like eg Warcry). Personal preference on rules is old style/old world WHFB, so in an ideal world I'd prefer minis to rank up on square bases, but I recognise that is asking a bit much ...

2021-09-30 21:01:49 +0000 UTCQuality over Quantity. I’m with the people who would like to see a dungeon crawler. I’m very interested in seeing the factions and worlds you already have laid out for us fleshed out. Maybe consider some throwback models as well or a rotating welcome pack with older factions in it that relate to the current ones for that month? Boss battles??? Hell yeah! I could go for that too!
Christopher Barnes
2021-09-30 20:54:45 +0000 UTCI'm ok with you taking your time with each fraction, with multiple monthly releases over them. It may boost your creativity and deepen into each fraction. It sounds good to me. I'd really love to see a small dungeon crawler board game with focus over boss battles. Maybe the community is up to start developing and testing together? I'd rather get fewer minis indeed. I prefer getting champions, villains, npcs and more "one of a kind" guys than multiple minions or soldiers. I'm more into arena or boss batlers than skirmish/dungeon crawl. Also I'd like medium to large sizes over huge ones.
@raw.paints
2021-09-30 19:22:32 +0000 UTCI'm mostly a D&D player and DM, so that's the direction I'd like to see things going. The 5e Stat Blocks are great, and eventually getting some small adventures and encounters with maps to go with the minis would be great. As for quantity vs quality, I will always vote for quality. I think the quality is already superb, and it's already more than I'll ever be able to print and paint! 😅 I wouldn't mind seeing more from each theme/faction, even if they came out on consecutive months. Keep up the great work!

2021-09-30 13:57:20 +0000 UTClate to the game, but also as far as going back to factions is concerned, more greebles, scatter, and terrain pieces would be cool to see
Joe
2021-09-30 12:18:33 +0000 UTCIn my opinion i like diferent factions as posible. The number of minis is ok for me, i would like 1 hero based on the theme of each faction. Scenary assets isnt for me, i preffer more minis than scenaries. As an independed game a dungeon crawler based would be amazing, with cards for each mini and enemies, bosses. I like more the 1 file minis than the optional arms and head, maybe different poses. Keep that dark aesthetic you do! More monsters in human sized like the early batches. Whatever you do will be right, keep the good job guys!

2021-09-30 10:45:06 +0000 UTCHello to the team. So, already, questioning yourself is a good thing. I have followed the creation and sometimes the fall of many brands for over 30 years, sometimes as a professional. Obviously, today things have changed a lot :). Regarding your creations ... Yes, a game could be a good way to continue the adventure. But it's a lot of work ^^. A "Mordheim Like" skirmish game seems to me the best compromise. I think quality is more important than quantity (personally, I think bash kits are unnecessary and probably take a lot of your time). concerning D&D ... ATTENTION, the next edition is announced for 2024! The best advice I can give: do what you love, and without pressure ^^

2021-09-30 10:03:13 +0000 UTCHarsh worlds are best played in systems like OSR: Old-School Essentials, The Black Hack. MÖRK BORG also seems similar in spirit to me. But I'm not an expert on the Doaden universe. The idea of deepening fractions is great! I often want to run a mini campaign to familiarize players with a particular faction, but there aren't enough models to both inspire and "put on the table". I think the current volume of miniatures is quite sufficient. You do not need to add a lot of terrain, unfortunately it is very expensive to print ( Maybe you should make environment sketches, and on their basis you can make a terrain yourself. And lastly, where can I learn the world of Doaden in detail)?

2021-09-30 09:59:17 +0000 UTCSounds like a great plan!
2021-09-30 08:17:46 +0000 UTCOnly joined a couple of months ago but it was the desert of the giant skulls that got me in , i have some other Arabian/desert themed prints now too so looking at games to use was key and I will either be using Frostgrave with a desert twist or thud and blunder as it allows some custom builds, ideally I'd like to see these two factions expanded more and also the Sekaton as the are gorgeous sculpts. Happy with quality over quantity and also keep up the fantastic sculpts

2021-09-30 08:07:29 +0000 UTCOnly here for the minis. Dont care what they are as long as they are cool, detailed and unique!
A
2021-09-30 08:06:44 +0000 UTCI’m probably gonna use your minis for Kings of War, Reign in Hell and Warsurge. Also for kitbashing and randomly inserting into other game systems.
2021-09-30 07:30:25 +0000 UTCI'm here for the unique minis, expanding older factions with new minis is still new minis that are detailed and unique. I play in 5e so love the stat blocks, even if it's just to give me an understanding of what the creatures are designed to do/be.
Jonathan Stockwell
2021-09-30 07:07:00 +0000 UTCRevisiting previous factions I would consider a bonus not a draw back, I'm subscribed for the art style and the quality of your work.

2021-09-30 03:39:21 +0000 UTCI think the obvious ruleset is One Page Rules. If you join their kickstarter you gain access to their points calculator for designing units. Oathsworn has open army building, but it still relies on pre-constructed stats, so maybe not the best. Honestly, anything that doesn't have some kind of unit builder is going to mean that stats need to be designed for the miniatures, unless you're fine having all the different minis represent only one or two different unit types. A couple that might be good are Reign in Hell and Forbidden Psalm, although they are both more small skirmish games where you build your own troops. Honestly it really comes down to what kind of miniatures game you want to support. Rank and Flank? Small battle? Skirmish? As to the question of more miniatures for factions, that would be awesome. I find I'd like to use some of the factions you've released in bigger games with more troop variety, so having more models available for them (especially for factions you've already released) would be a godsend.

2021-09-30 03:30:21 +0000 UTCHonestly, I'm comfortable with you guys doing whatever you feel is right. If that's moving away from new sets to expand on older ones, that would be great. I loved the Gorgon Catacombs and the Crimson Grove and would 100% support expanding on that setting. Additionally, I just love your miniatures because of how unique and different they are, so I'm here for your art. I'm cool with what you do.

2021-09-30 02:29:33 +0000 UTCdnd but also gurps and palladium have some flexible systems that could be easily adapt to your needs.

2021-09-30 01:43:21 +0000 UTCi love the idea of expanding the existing sets with not only new models but new content as well. I've played dnd since the 70s and still run a weekly campaign with friends. I would be more than happy to play through some of your content with my groups and really start exploring how your universe is going to unfold. as for play systems that would support it, obviously
Aurufex
2021-09-30 01:42:28 +0000 UTCI would suggest trying for B/X or OSR style systems, write to that. That better fits the style and tone (IMO) that you're shooting for here than 5e, even if 5e's the most popular game system right now. Would also say that a lot of people are probably just here for miniatures/models. Having some brief snippets of flavor text or background text to really sell the thing is good, but a lot of people (without knowing full numbers) are likely to just reskin it for their own thing.
2021-09-30 01:07:09 +0000 UTCI think the longer term development of factions and groups can only be a good thing, so I have no issues with this idea as stated at the moment. I do think that Frostgrave springs to mind as a starting point, as well as Kings of War, when you consider currently supported systems. I would challenge you to look at older games without current support, however, because I think there are some real gems which might lend themselves very well to your aesthetic if you were willing to go that route. Among them I would specifically draw Helldorado to your attention - interesting mechanics, good skirmish gameplay. All around, it's a good building block.

2021-09-30 00:55:10 +0000 UTCWell I'm just hear for your Grimm dark models. Thes are awesome. I'm not a big reader so... Yeah. But I fully rad your comment and i hope you don't reduce the amount of models per month. I personally think them are allready super detailed so i don't see the need for reforging old skulps, well but I'm ready to get proven wrong and im realy like the idear of expanding allready existing releases. More options are allways awesome.

2021-09-30 00:28:39 +0000 UTCAgree, I don't follow them for this reason. I also dropped Artisan Guild for the same reason. I have 2 years of elves and dwarfs to choose from, they are all excellent tabletop models but even chocolate loses its flavour after a while. I'm here for some Bestarum style, anchovy stuffed olive.
Darque
2021-09-29 23:33:11 +0000 UTCAgree regarding the Jailer, Gillot, Caged, and I'll add Black Widow, Faceshifter. There is plenty of others but these are probably the iconic Bestiarum style for me.

2021-09-29 23:27:49 +0000 UTCAgree with creativity and motivation. Patreon is not about getting cheap models but supporting artists (then getting cheap models, lol). Lose your drive to keep doing this and we all lose Alexei. Take your brand where you want it to go.

2021-09-29 23:13:21 +0000 UTCAlexei. I haven't played DnD for about 40 years but your models are exceptional and simplly can be used in any gaming system. They can be proxy models for literally anything with a little imagination and maybe a tinker in Blender or even a slicer can add additional details that make each unique model 'uniquer' .I collect and play mainly 40K so a traitor space marine backpack and helm sliced into the model along with a hand swap from blade to bolter and hey presto, the best looking traitor marines on the market :)

2021-09-29 23:10:19 +0000 UTCLove your work. Totally ok with not having new factions every month, giving you the ability to expand on each faction over several months. I really like the idea of seeing more complete factions with lots of models that accumulate over time. Maybe introduce a new faction every 3 months? Onepagerules does something similar, with existing factions extending over many months. And most months include additional models for multiple factions.

2021-09-29 22:44:14 +0000 UTCYou are my favorite studio who made me buy 3d printer. Whatever You do I follow. Didn t see a single release of Yours that I didn't like. For me the only minor thing would be to make even more bits, I mean seperate parts. You are making some, but still a lot of opportunity with little effort.
Maybug Games
2021-09-29 20:26:42 +0000 UTCI LOVE everything that you guys have put out. You do such good work on every release that I'd be just as excited for expansions to those existing ranges as I would be completely new ones. I am 100% fine with a shift in focus onto expansions and refinements rather than new factions, with occasional new ones sprinkled in. I think some of my front-runner favorites (and the ones I get the most use out of) are the Agony and Temptation sculpts (Demons/Succubi/Monsters), Crimson Abbey (Blasphemous-style stuff), and the Allstein-related packs. I really enjoy the most recent lizardmen pack you did, I'd use those sculpts/kits to make a Seraphon army for Age of Sigmar if the range got a little more expansion to it. Well, I might not play the *specific game* 'Age of Sigmar', but I'm definitely in a mood to paint/play around with some lizardmen as I've recently gotten really into Total War Warhammer II where I've fallen in love with them. I build/paint/daydream about skirmish games more than I play, which is why I love the gorgeous dark fantasy/dark future aesthetic you're building. As far as what I build/paint "for": I play Frostgrave, Stargrave (as a stand-in for 40K), and sometimes Song of Blades and Heroes. I'd love to have some "lore" to draw upon for these sculpts, but they're going into small-mid skirmish games rather than RPGs when I use them. The fluff is very inspirational and I like what I've gotten, but I'm generally trying to find heroes and monsters for dark sci-fi (40K-but-old-school/fuedal world) and for dark fantasy. For "heroes and henchmen" I'm usually looking for thugs, thieves, and privateers from both settings (and often blended, my sci-fi skews fantasy but my fantasy games are strictly medieval). As far as monsters, the more the merrier. I love the big stuff as bosses, I love having some kitbash/fodder sculpts to use as regular enemies. The lore snippets help me to spin up scenarios and set-ups for my star+frostgrave games, but I'm not going to be using the exact DnD stats. I just adapt their described abilities/perceived power into the appropriate stats for the system I'm playing. It would also help to occasionally get little bits of appropriate scenery/important items to use as objectives/scenario/loot tokens. Both Star- and Frostgrave use loot tokens as well as scenario-specific items, so having something like a clutch of lizardmen eggs or a gothic "computer" terminal to stick on bases and use as our objectives/loot for those games would be really fun. It's not a high priority and I already sub other sculptor's stuff in there for that kind of thing, but it would be neat IMO to see what kinds of things make up scenarios/loot for the Spirers of Allstein or whatever. If you're familiar at all with Inquisitor28, Mordheim, Sludge, Mork Borg, or any of those DIY dark fantasy systems, that's the kind of thing I'm using the *grave, Rangers of Shadowdeep and SoBaH systems to run. The crazy eye-catching sculpts and terrain this patreon provides really help sell newbies on trying out miniature gaming in general, and I'm usually running these simpler and more narrative/campaign-focused systems to get more people into the wargaming and/or DnD hobby. Also, as a painter, if these guys get to know me and decide they want to try playing DnD and *grave games more often, they come back to commission me to paint all their DnD figs so it becomes a self-perpetuating cycle of getting people into the hobby then painting what they bring me when they get hooked. If things keep going well, I might even have to bump up to the merchant tier so I can start selling prints!

2021-09-29 20:07:58 +0000 UTCThese are some really interesting ideas. However, if I'm being brutally honest, the models are really what it's all about, and having them released on a monthly basis does a great deal to help expand my library and keep my players haunted and horrified. I'm hesitant to be on board with less releases, or even expanding previous ones, as they already seem pretty comprehensive. I'm the kind of person that always needs something new. Also, honestly, world lore, rule sets, and stat blocks/data are not necessary, as I can make these up myself on the spot with an ease of effort. It might be worth considering to do without those in order to maintain the monthly release agenda, little to just focus on the models themselves. Truly not trying to sound patronizing, this is just my opinion. I joined for monthly releases and it would be sad to see it go. However, I entirely understand you wanting to increase the quality of your releases and I respect and appreciate that. Your work is amazing! On the other hand, if helping split the workload would aid in ameliorating this situation, I would be willing to put my name forward as potential creator of lore and dataslates. I have more than 7 years experience of consistent DMing of several simultaneous campaigns both online and in person, and have made my world, lore, story, and nearly all my dataslates from scratch with great success. I mostly run D&D 5e but have dabbled in other TTRPGs. I would look forward to immersing myself in your existing lore. PM me, I'd be happy to start a conversation.
2021-09-29 20:00:19 +0000 UTCYes, I too would love some heroes with each factions. Great idea.
Ramiro Carrasco Jr.
2021-09-29 19:42:36 +0000 UTCThe current variety of your releases has kept me supporting for successive months. But if you revisit and expand themes I could still be on board if the models are compelling and offer something new. Some have mentioned OPR, which is a cool Patreon, but they also stick with one theme way too long IMHO. How many more varieties of Egyptian undead do I need? If you can find balance in expanding existing lines and still have a variety go for it. As for lore and background, its always neat to read what you thought up and sometimes I use bits of it. But mostly I use your models in other existing games and worlds.
Kory Kennedy
2021-09-29 19:36:40 +0000 UTCI've join you because you create unique miniatures. I love dark fantasy themes and yours miniatures are just insane. Please remain in these universe. I would like to see even more dark and macabre miniatures. I would like you to translate pain into all its forms to miniatures and characters, to create a shocking character that will hunt you for some time. I like dark horror, and with some characters you have reached almost perfection: Jailer, The Caged, Bekhetur and Jerico, Gilliot. But I think you can do even more than this :).
Ionut Rus
2021-09-29 19:18:42 +0000 UTCBecause I primarily kitbash and paint minis, i'm system agnostic. But I also know a lot of love is out there for OnePageRules, and other lesser known grimdark games with shoulder pads and alien demons ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
DeusX
2021-09-29 19:00:56 +0000 UTCThe missing consistency is always a big argument against 3d printed miniature lines (for me). You created some very unique factions and made a great decision to give us kitbash sets. I would love to see extensions for your past lines to use them as whole armies (for example for sludge, as Steve Howland wrote) Gaming systems: -onepagerules -Sludge (spirers of allstein) -Morkborg
2021-09-29 18:59:23 +0000 UTCFor the game, what about OnePageRules? They have a number of really well done skirmish and full games using Grimdark Future or Fantasy minis, and they don't have miniatures for all of the possible races. I'd go so far as to suggest a collaboration with OPR (they are on patreon) and perhaps you could be their official modeler for new set, with an agreement that it gets released on both, or something? Just my two cents.
Steven Crawford
2021-09-29 18:54:28 +0000 UTCI teally love your previous sets like the spyrers of Allenstein and I would Love to See some New Models in those Settings. Your Style and Fantasy grimdark Settings are Really cool especially in combination with your Modeling Artwork. So for me there is ni Need for New Settings to be forced upon. Just take your time to Keep your Creativity Moving and motivated! :) Greetings
2021-09-29 18:53:19 +0000 UTCFirst and foremost, I love the high detail, high texture, high quality, and variety of poses you offer monthly. I like the idea of a 3 or 4 month long faction to flesh out and really dig into the lore, background and style of the faction but I feel the main focus should always remain on the models. I think you should stick with the D&D rule sets in order to remain an attractive source for DMs and Players. I myself primarily enjoy working on dioramas. I'm more focused on the building and painting of figures and dioramas. One of my absolute favorite types of dioramas is the "Deadly Encounters" put out as a collaboration between "Archvillian Games" and "Titan-Forge Miniatures" and they are fantastic. I wish you would seriously consider adding at least one large diorama to each months models list. All you really need to do add is a massive diorama base for several models to battle and boom! You have a "battle/encounter" that will surely attract many like myself. Plus, they are great for display/contest painting. It's hard to accurately describe how awesome this feature can be. If you would please take a look at Archvillians examples you would better understand their appeal. I will continue to subscribe, I love your models but I would love them even more if you added these "Diorama Battles". I have faith in you, now take my money!

2021-09-29 18:50:15 +0000 UTCKeep building on your faction lines, I love the minis and will use them for sludge

2021-09-29 18:10:40 +0000 UTCOnly here for new unique mini's to paint, so new or old faction doesn't matter to me. Keep up for fantastic work

2021-09-29 17:48:53 +0000 UTCVery cool , I think some of the factions do need more detail and more units , I wouldn't mind you revisiting any of them .

2021-09-29 17:21:15 +0000 UTCI am rather new here as a patreon. I plan to stay a patreon here for quite a while. The main reason for that is that your catalogue from previous months is very consistent in quality and esthetic. I mainly use the models for 8th edition Fantasy WH, but there are also plans for D&D and other games. Often I have no direct use for a lot of the models in a monthly release, but they all look tempting to print and paint for that sake alone. I think the idea of fleshing out your world more is a good idea if your ambition is more than just sculpting models. Worldbuilding is a foundation of our hobbies. The biggest downside for you though might be losing some patreons that are here for a specific faction, and it might be harder to draw in new patreons if they have no use for the current faction that might run for several months in the future. I myself am happy that I will have grotesque and gory monstrosities to paint in the forseeable future. Take care and keep it up.
2021-09-29 17:13:34 +0000 UTCIm here for the models. Really never looked at (or used) the lore behind the models. I like demons/devils/undead.
Syrkres
2021-09-29 17:08:41 +0000 UTCDefinitely would enjoy more fleshed out factions with bigger selections of minis, even if that means going back to previous factions or waiting longer for a release.
Xavier-Rowan Gagnon
2021-09-29 17:03:19 +0000 UTCI'm just here for cool, gory models. Whatever you need to do to keep that up while maintaining your sanity and creative juices flowing is fine by me.

2021-09-29 16:45:42 +0000 UTCCool idea. I just want dark fantasy models that drip with the grimness. I've never really cared if they were all themed together or not since I'm likely to print out the models I like best and use em however I see fit anyway. As far as systems go, like others have mentioned already, I'm a fan of Mörk Borg and the related Forbidden Psalm rules for miniature battles. In fact that's what I subscribed to Bestarium for: as a source of cool models for Forbidden Psalm. Basically though, whatever you need to do to stay focused and keep making cool sh*t, that's what I'm for! Keep up the good work.
2021-09-29 16:35:46 +0000 UTCI love the idea of revisiting and expanding old themes. Especially from the end of 2020 and beginning if this year. The newer stuff is amazing, but it doesn’t push the same buttons as the earlier stuff did. So, yeah! Have at it. 😊

2021-09-29 16:33:53 +0000 UTCI am totally on board with revisiting previous factions. Spirers of Alstein is what really drew me in to your style, and I would love to see more stuff like that. Regarding game integration, I'd rather not have you spend your effort trying to design your own game system -- just stick with DnD 5e, or other widely accepted systems. Sticking with an established game system has the potential to draw in more people, people that are familiar with that game system. Creating your own, or using a less known ruleset would not be as beneficial, in my opinion. Regardless, I'm excited to see what you create in the future!
2021-09-29 16:33:27 +0000 UTCIt looks like my comments were eaten. Some creators are using a quarterly system, taking 3 months. They are offering a throwback collection. One is revisiting their 1 year to the month collection. Some are offering 5e stats, lore, maps, etc. I'm up for the newer models to be INTERESTING. What is interesting? That's the $24,000 question.

2021-09-29 16:33:09 +0000 UTCI think this is a great idea. I'm not much of a game player, more of a mini painter, bit I would love to see the development of a gaming system! Perhaps a gang based battle game like Hordes or Mordheim, or even the development of a dnd type of game using the existing dataslates you have made for your minis. Either way, I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. All the best! <3

2021-09-29 16:25:32 +0000 UTCi really love the idea of returning to previous factions and expanding them. (and, as to game systems, i find that yr work tends to be perfect for 'mork borg,' 'forbidden psalm,' and 'reign in hell.')
s.j. bagley
2021-09-29 16:22:54 +0000 UTCof course I am totally fine, if you decide to support factions for that specific games, I am also happy, if you decide to split one whole army into several month.

2021-09-29 16:21:37 +0000 UTCI'd love to see more of previous factions, especially the dark steam punk gun faction.

2021-09-29 16:20:58 +0000 UTCI mostly use your Miniatures for GrimDarkFuture and AgeOfFantasy by OPR - and a similar Game from another Company... I would be very pleased if you do factions which can be used in those Tabletop Games and design units which can be used for them with different variations. The reason why I subscribed is your grimmer and darker style - which fits those universes more than the original minis in my opinion. Sometimes I have to scale them a little bit. I would appreciate it, if you try to support factions of that universes and rotate with the units or sth like that. Maybe it is a good idea to get in contact with Gaetano from OnePageRules - they are amazing :)

2021-09-29 16:20:21 +0000 UTCIn terms of game systems, there's Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, and then there's literally everything else. This isn't to say that D&D is the best fit for grimdark horror material, that might be Warhammer Fantasy or Shadows of the Demon Lord, or heck, GURPS, but who'se you're audience. You'd need a survey for that alone and of itself. Maybe your audience skews a certain way and they're all playing Pathfinder 2E.

2021-09-29 16:18:44 +0000 UTCI love the idea of expanding existing factions. Your work is phenomenal and I would support whatever path you chose to take. As far as game systems go, I’ve played a lot of Mörk Borg and the esthetic of the game is perfect for your miniatures. The system is also relatively simplistic compared to DnD 5e so it’s much easier to set up and get playing for the DM and players, at least from my perspective. Can’t wait to see where you go with this. Keep up the great work
2021-09-29 16:04:12 +0000 UTCI would welcome the expansion of existing factions for sure.

2021-09-29 15:57:25 +0000 UTCI think it's fair not to release a faction each month. I have joined mainly because of the grimmer, darker and grotesque monsters and themes you create. I feel that in the last few month while still great quality have been a bit of a departure from your original theme. For how many models are needed. Personally I expect a centerpiece of some sort. 1-3 additional middle sized monsters and a few preferably kitbashable "troops". I really liked some of the terrain as well. I think your April and May releases were quite generous. Staying with one faction or 2-3 in a rotating schedule makes a lot of sense. And I would love to see factions expanded upon or, like in the desert release, have allies, enemies and neutrals introduced.
Simon
2021-09-29 15:57:11 +0000 UTCI love the idea of expanding the factions and world they live in. The darkness of the setting will make for some awesome narratives. It is hard to say how big the releases should be. Depending on the size of the actual miniatures anywhere from 5-8 is probably good. I really enjoy One Page Rules for war gaming. Easy to learn and fast game play. They have a skirmish and full scale rule set. Plus they have an army builder where you can create rules your own armies. If these armies are going to be expanded into full scale war gaming armies I would like more options for the kit bash sets. Just to have some diversity in posing. Also, I feel that the armies would need a designated troop option that has a few weapon options. Great work. Love everything you make and I’m excited to see what comes next!
JJ
2021-09-29 15:54:07 +0000 UTCYessssssss! I hate new theme every month, if it were for me, you could make as many models for one faction for a year straight.
2021-09-29 15:33:23 +0000 UTCTo echo everyone else, I'd love to see expansions on previous factions. It's actually something I've desired for a long time :) And in terms of release size, going smaller with higher quality is just fine, especially since you'll be revisiting factions. In the long run it seems the result would be a net of more models with higher quality in the same factions than if nothing changed. In terms of RPG systems, your models fit right in with Mork Borg, and it's a system that's been rising in popularity it seems. In terms of other grimdark systems I know of, there's Lamentations of the Flame Princess and Shadow of the Demon Lord. Savage Lands and Dungeon World are other somewhat popular systems as well. 5e is obviously hugely popular, and chances are those resources are going to be the most likely to be used out of any you make simply due to widespread adoption of the system. For wargames, I'm not as familiar with these kinds of systems (I play mostly RPGs), but going along with Mork Borg, there's Forbidden Psalm, which is a skirmish game for Mork Borg I believe. Reign in Hell has also been booming since its release, and I heard one of its designers speaking highly about A Song of Blades and Heroes, which is another miniatures agnostic wargame. Frostgrave is another one that's had a lot of popularity, and then there's also Turnip28, which (while a rather silly premise) really reminds me a lot of the Allstein models :) Anyway, I love the direction you're going and you're absolutely one of my favorite modelers of all the ones I've seen. I can't wait to see where you go next!

2021-09-29 15:01:03 +0000 UTCThe reason I joined the patreon recently was because of the amazing original art, the large patreon rewards you get, and the fact I can integrate these into my DnD campaign. As long as these three things continue, I would support whichever path you take. Thanks for all your hard work and I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
2021-09-29 14:55:34 +0000 UTCI like the idea of revisiting old factions. Maybe not revisiting them every month, and not releasing only one faction for many months in a row. About quality over quantity, I'm pretty cool with that, I like the idea of focusing on high quality miniatures. I don't really care about the scenery for dioramas though, it has a very high cost for printing and at the end, although it's very cool end-up not being worth it. About the system, I would recommend Symbaroum. I'm using it right now and I'm loving it so much! It has a very grim dark tone, very hardcore and requires player tactics and planning before heading out to any adventures

2021-09-29 14:55:12 +0000 UTCmore months spent on a single faction would be better for me, not worse

2021-09-29 14:51:57 +0000 UTCDig the idea about several months spent on a specific faction and their story/ecosystem and enemies!

2021-09-29 14:45:44 +0000 UTCMostly a DnD 5e player here - and like most - I think doing more fleshing out of some of the existing themes is good. One of the common problems with Mini patreons is you end up with a wide variety of models - but each theme is really narrow. If I want to run an encounter in Allstein, I can do that. But an entire campaign? The model line is too narrow right now. If you have a couple more releases of that, then yeah - that'll be doable. As an aside - I end up basically using the dataslates as inspiration (because there are some cool abilities - which is something the DND MM is crap at) - and rewriting them -- because the mechanics almost always have miscalculated DCs, or attack bonuses (and CR is often way off)
Richard Conley
2021-09-29 14:40:20 +0000 UTC5e is by far the most popular system out there at the moment. Personally, I've been enjoying running games in Mork Borg, which is a rules lite game that would be fairly easy to create compelling stat blocks for. I might also suggest looking at other OSR systems, such as Old School Essentials, which is based on B/X Dnd.
Isaac L. Wheeler
2021-09-29 14:39:31 +0000 UTCOn the idea of 'fitting' - the bases are a pain to work with - they're odd sizes and they tend not to work at all with typical "painting holder" tools because they don't have any sort of sharp edge.
Richard Conley
2021-09-29 14:36:33 +0000 UTCHmmmmmm. I don't mind this idea as I rather enjoy lore. Personally, I prefer collecting armies and in that vein the system I'd suggest would be one similar to Age of Sigmar. Simple to play and grasp with plenty of room for growth/diversity or strange new creatures/characters. Simple well-executed systems that make it easy to play with friends will forever be my ideal state as DND doesn't lend itself too well to repeat encounters with the same models. Armies do thrives off new and interesting minis being thrown into the mix at a slower pace.
Levash
2021-09-29 14:29:41 +0000 UTCMore fleshed out themes is fine. My only recommendation is mix up the theme selection from month to month. Do not run consecutive months with the same theme. I think model count is largely ok, can be reduced a bit likely. More terrain pieces would be cool. The kitbash kits I think you can release later, instead of with those sets. Mini releases, or with the following sets. This will allow you to work on something small, breaking apart the model into the bits when you need a break from designing something entirely new.
2021-09-29 14:29:38 +0000 UTCYour work is sick! I like things the way they are now but fewer more detailed models would be nice too. I know that doesnt help much. I use em for Age of Sigmar and Warcry.
Jason Hernandez
2021-09-29 14:28:19 +0000 UTCHow about you get in contact with some indie miniature agnostic tabletop developers (Forbidden Psalms, Turnip 28, OnePageRules etc. etc.) and work together on some specific models from their systems? There's a lot of crazy stuff out there that already has cool lore. Also, less is more. I don't need entire armies each month, couple of really cool fleshed out models is good enough :)
Nagelbett
2021-09-29 14:10:57 +0000 UTCYes, I would absolutely love to see more fleshed out themes rather than trying to come up with something completely new every month. It's much more important to be able to realize all of your ideas and create variety and quality within a faction than it is to pump new ones out constantly. I only play Warhammer games right now, so for me having more fleshed out factions and themes means that I can have more variety on the table with any models I'm able to use as proxies. Other than that I just print things that look cool to me and I want to paint, so I'm absolutely behind you taking more time to realize all of your ideas and make them true to your vision and the quality you wanted. I'm looking forward to this.
2021-09-29 14:05:51 +0000 UTCQuality over quantity is a good thing , so thumbs up. I think that as long as i get 4-5 miniatures i am happy, so you are exceeding my expectations. I am not much of a D&D person recently, as creating a setting requires time i dont have. I have been recently working on a skirmish system with my friends. It still requires a lot of work, but it has potential. We werent sure where to look for thematic inspiration, as we believe that the core mechanics should work well with the setting , but maybe BM could be a good inspiration. If we will get to a relatively decent point and we will feel like its workable, i could show you how it works and maybe you could try to expand it from that ? :) dont worry it would be probably open source since we probably wont have the time to keep developing it indefinitely. It may require some minor terrain elements like the ones you did though ( initially we were thinking about using the plants and rocks Kickstarter, but it should be easily changeable ) . I will let you know if something will be finished ( warning I am not a perfectionist, so tuning will be required). It would be cool to every now and then have an artwork of the models, to get some inspiration from -> for painting.

2021-09-29 14:04:13 +0000 UTCI think it is great, expanding older factions. There is so much opportunity to flesh out. Love the ideas, and looking forward to seeing what is in store!
Josh Lambert
2021-09-29 14:03:44 +0000 UTCI'm always looking for minis to create a full army / setting. To expand your already nice sets it's a great idea.
Richie
2021-09-29 14:00:02 +0000 UTCI am a perfectionist as well. I say do what makes you happy, I have been with you since the beginning and I don't plan on going anywhere! I love the artwork and style that you have. My recommendation is that you just do what your creative mind wants to do and we will pay you ! lol

2021-09-29 13:58:29 +0000 UTCExpanding old faction would be nice. I would really love to see the Scorpion Queen from the Desert of Giants Months

2021-09-29 13:55:40 +0000 UTCDnd is a good basis for the game system. Completing the factions is good, and the kit bash is an essential addition for players.Maybe provide a team of heroes to explore the whole world. If it's possible to maintain the size of the content it would be great.

2021-09-29 13:49:45 +0000 UTCI'm new to your patreon, but already I love the designs and ideas you come up with. And for me it's for DND 5E. I would love for more worldbuilding on every faction, and around 10 to 12 new prints every month would be nice, and I would like to se even more unike scenic prints. Being new, and being a patreon member, I would like to get the chance to buy the old part of a faction that you would maybe expand on, with around a 80% discount, so I have the chance for one month in getting the full set for a low price as a member. I really love the dataslates, and the maps, for me that's a great bonus. I would like to see even more maps, they dont need to faction based, but just cool maps to enjoy. And please, all files pre-supported.

2021-09-29 13:32:00 +0000 UTCAlso I really want more spire'ers
Trevor McCabe
2021-09-29 13:18:13 +0000 UTCAbsolutely love the idea of more consistent factions. I love all your models but don't have the time or resin to print and use them all. Having more consistent themes helps build up an army or idea over a longer time.

2021-09-29 13:17:37 +0000 UTCI am a new subscriber, but I really like the idea of more fleshed out/detailed factions vs more factions

2021-09-29 13:13:59 +0000 UTCThis month I became your patreon and I have missed many posts. For me it would be great to have access to the old molelos and if they are more detailed or enlarged, the better. I finish 5 or 6 complete models a month, I don't need a large quantity but quality is essential. As for DnD, I have been a master for 15 years and I can dungeon with dark or creepy ideas since sword and classical witchcraft is my specialty inspired by the work of Robert E. Howard and H.P. Loveraft. Thank you for your work, I support you.
2021-09-29 13:08:43 +0000 UTCTruth be told. The cult of flesh was my favorite set and i would love to see it expanded, so i don’t think you need to give yourself grey hairs over that... As for the gaming system pretty sure any small wargame would do , kill team warcry kinda stuff. Maybe push it a bit more on the narrative side of things As for the dnd stuff I honnestly never used it
2021-09-29 13:04:56 +0000 UTCI like where things are going. I think focusing on some already produced factions and expanding miniatures is a good ideas. Maybe a set or two of heroes that could be added to co timid the lore.
Nathan Bursac
2021-09-29 13:04:35 +0000 UTCAgreed. Expand current factions.
Cloudcaptain
2021-09-29 13:03:53 +0000 UTCFunny how things go sometimes - was just recently thinking how cool it would be to see, for instance some scrapper cavalry. There is such a wealth of imagery in your releases, which has kept us coming back. You should totally follow your artistic vision, as that is what brought us here in the first place - and if that means expanding the existing lore, I for one am totally on board with that. All the best!
mike
2021-09-29 13:01:36 +0000 UTCI agree more additions to older lines. I'm also playing more wargaming than dnd
2021-09-29 12:56:23 +0000 UTCI'm all for revisiting and expanding old factions. I want to use the minis for wargaming not D&D so options to field an army would be awesome. I would request even more kit bash stuff since it's like to adapt them to Scifi. As for a gaming system you might look into More Borg, Sludge, or OnePageRules.
Charles Blanco
2021-09-29 12:51:46 +0000 UTCI like the minis and expansions are a great idea. Personally don’t like D&D so not fussed about that stuff I have used your minis in games of Dracula’s America (great game) plus agree with other commenters about frostgrave be great to get small warbands for these style games even dare I utter the devils name warbands for Beastgrave as that game has to be one of the best and most enjoyable games system out there
Craig Tough
2021-09-29 12:42:21 +0000 UTCI think your idea to focus mainly on expanding previous factions, while occasionally releasing new ones, is a good strategy. You shouldn't have to force a new theme every month if it isn't something you have a clear idea or desire for that month. Generally, I would say to focus on quality over quantity. But I do think releasing a higher number of minis makes sense when introducing a new faction. Most important of all, don't burn yourself out. It sounds like you have ideas that you want to do that don't fit into the current structure, and I think not going after those ideas could be harmful later on. Go for it! Thanks for all your work!
2021-09-29 12:41:07 +0000 UTCI really like this direction. I'm a merchant. The modular kit bash sets add lots of variety. The large figures get a lot of attention. Not having a theme each month could be a mixed bag for BM as the new Patreon members are drawn in by the consistency of thematic releases. My two cents on it would be to have a portion of each release a long term story build with a smaller thematic portion. I think Archvillain Games has shifted in that direction. I know Artisan Guild has done similar. Archvillain Games has a new set called Archvillain Society. It's a small side release for added value and likely there to have an outlet for non themed ideas they have. Artisan Guild has thematic releases but the voting for monthly releases got to where the new idea would win with the same 2nd and 3rd place picks month after month. They added those ideas in as a bonus in a long-term reach goal set. That set was setup so that once a certain number of patrons was reached a new figure would be released. It wasn't just a bonus set creating more work. It was teased like a Kickstarter goal.
Bradley Flores
2021-09-29 12:33:19 +0000 UTCThemes give customers a feeling of a cohesive product that gives them a feeling of consistency and quality. Looking at your and other offerings what might make sense is having battle themes where there's two sides represented 3 modular A side soldiers, 3 modular B side soldiers, a large creature, a mount (or an A and B mount), and a battleground terrain piece.
Bradley Flores
2021-09-29 12:33:12 +0000 UTCI'm new here but I agree that I'd like to see the existing factions expanded more. Personally I'd like to see more variants of existing "units" so far a lot seem to be only 3 poses, so maybe expanding that to 5 for example. In general it would be nice to see more added to each faction and more kitbash sets. Even if just more items/add ons for existing models.
Derelictpixies_creatorium
2021-09-29 12:28:47 +0000 UTCOnePageRules recently went full time and have done the same building one existing factions with introducing a new one every so often then expanding on that for monthly releases. I think you have a great base of factions now with an expanded focus I think they'll get even better
Nick Passamonti
2021-09-29 12:19:17 +0000 UTCKingdom Death would be a great system for your sculpts
Tim Yore
2021-09-29 12:14:17 +0000 UTCDetailed factions are a great idea: once you incorporate something into a campaign, you need a lot of different stuff: grunts, commanders, monsters, terrain, props, and it's also really cool to have modular miniatures! regarding the system, isn't 5e enough?
Danil
2021-09-29 12:13:35 +0000 UTCI’d actually rather see more modular options for existing factions than new ones every month, I kind of use my patreon subscriptions as a hobby retirement plan, the more depth you can give each project the better.

2021-09-29 12:12:06 +0000 UTCI love existing themes! Expanding on them would be awesome! I would love to see ranges expanded to be able to build full HATE tribe or cover different unit slots in some games. I honestly do not see DnD as an option because of replay rate, but HATE, Warcry maybe, and smaller detachments that could work with Kings of War would be awesome to have!

2021-09-29 12:09:02 +0000 UTCYes. Quality please. I agree with many of the comments already posted. Expand on what is already been thought up. I don’t see the point in wasting resources on trying to find different themes every month. Keep up the good work

Mergoth
2021-09-29 12:08:18 +0000 UTCI don't need a new faction every month. In fact, some themes resonated with me more than others where I wished you did more similar. Allstein was great with two consecutive months, even if they were technically different factions - the design carried over a bit. I wished the desert would've had two months, too. Releasing the bird guys and the scorpions together felt a bit crammed. Another possibility to do this would be to include months were a few factions get some new stuff. Signum Workshop for example does that when they don't have enough ideas for a new sub-faction.
Simon
2021-09-29 12:00:33 +0000 UTCExpand existing forces! And keep it up with the scenery pieces - they are really - bet not only my - favourite part!

2021-09-29 11:56:44 +0000 UTCI would love to see the factions expanded and quality definitely trumps quantity.
2021-09-29 11:54:02 +0000 UTCi really agree to all you said. I am on the merchant tier but i surely prefer quality over quantity. And you always deliver. 6-8 models for every release i think its perfect :)
DungeonWorld
2021-09-29 11:53:41 +0000 UTCGood idea. Many creators go that way. Of course there is a chance taht people will cancel because they don't like your theme for mkonth, but I think in the end it will be worth it. As for gaming systems, I would aim for the following: - The Ninth Age // plenty of races, open for all kinds of miniatures - Conquest // several fantasy factions with a dark twist; especially Spires could fit perfectly - SAGA (Age of Magic) // miniature agnostic with several factions that players can fit your mniatures in
Marco Hess
2021-09-29 11:52:07 +0000 UTCI really love the idea of expanded factions. I only came upon you guys somewhat recently and would love the opportunity to get models of a similar theme to months I missed.
Azalah
2021-09-29 11:51:25 +0000 UTCHuge + for the expanded factions. For game system I think One page rules could be good. They already have point calculator so you can make your custom factions. The system seems easy enough. Overall the changes you wrote seems pretty good. Definetly see way more pros than cons.
Mészöly Patrik Sándor
2021-09-29 11:47:17 +0000 UTCExpanding your existing factions would be amazing

2021-09-29 11:46:08 +0000 UTCI love the idea of expanding new sets here and there in a month. I love the aesthetic, lore, terrain, and miniatures you guys do, as long as you keep being you I love what you put out 💜
Natalie Belew
2021-09-29 11:45:40 +0000 UTCI think that expanding current available sets is a great idea, I have been a patron for 6 months or so and I think that expanding some of them with new "units" would even make one time patrons come back to get the second or third part of a specific faction
Amon_DC
2021-09-29 11:43:57 +0000 UTCNo needs for a new faction each month. Your last releases are simply awesome and maintained the current quality and quantity would be the best. Of course if it's too much effort I would prefer quality over quantity. I think it would be nice to think about some kind of a skirmish game, every small faction is really themed and it make me think about something like Warcry
Giuseppe Sollano
2021-09-29 11:42:19 +0000 UTCHi Alexei, and thanks for all your fantastic releases every month! The idea of focusing on some existing armies and themes is more than welcome, some of the previous sets are literally fantastic! Corrupted Ambrosia, Crimson Grove Abbey but especially Allstein have great themes! I'm dying to see more of this faction! Allstein has largely inspired the last few sessions of my personal roleplaying game, with its dark, industrial and corrupted theme! I really like this aspect of your universe, with morbid and deranged technology, foggy and sick environments... I'm also very curious to know more about the corruption behind the Gorgon Catacombs! How can it still spread? The presence of very dark heroes like in Corrupted Ambrosia is also a great idea, and Bestiarum being a source of miniatures for amazing roleplaying games like Mörk Borg or Forbidden Psalm, I'd really like to discover new ones! Go deeper, keep your gloomy and disturbing atmosphere, and build a coherent and mapped universe, it's really the best thing to do! More traditional themes like the demons of the coming month seem less essential to me (even if the future sculpts look amazing!). Thanks for continuing to make me dream every month, for helping me find new game mechanics for my personal game project just by looking at the look of your miniatures, and good luck for the future!

2021-09-29 11:41:58 +0000 UTCI definitely vote quality over quantity, but if you're going to do smaller releases and add to old releases, I would recommend a monthly throwback release where patrons get access to a few models from previous months as a little extra incentive to keep patrons.

2021-09-29 11:40:54 +0000 UTCYeah, take your time. I love almost all of your creations, but we obviously can't always have the exact same taste. If you're cutting stuff to make sure you are able to finish the release in time, there's a chance you just cut what might have become my favorite piece. I'd rather just see all of it. In terms of "Grim/Dark RPGs" there's Mörk Borg, Dungeon World that I know of, but I haven't played Mörk Borg and only a little bit of Dungeon World.

2021-09-29 11:40:51 +0000 UTCI love the aesthetic of your models, and expanding what is already there would be very appealing to me too, so fully supportive of this move
2021-09-29 11:39:49 +0000 UTCHi 😁 all for expanding current content you guys have made it's all brilliant and very unique and more to expand what has been released is something I know I would love, some have a bit of sci fi feel to them, some are straight up horror, or creepy creatures, sick knight like people I love it. Also I have kept saying how bits you guys are for been able to put out so much content each month cutting back on the numbers and I'd have zero issues with it myself. I love the kitbash stuff myself. Personally use OnePageRules games myself. I am also going to do a bit of kitbashing with your stuff for some 3rd edition 40k inspired Lost and the Damned. Full of mutants, chaos cultists etc...

2021-09-29 11:39:21 +0000 UTCTo be honest I find the sheer number of minis each month a bit overwhelming. I'll never use them all, so feel like I'm kind of wasting them. I'd be happier with less minis, if that makes sense. I know it doesn't. Also very excited by the prospect of expanding existing factions rather than adding new ones. For games systems, I plan on using these mostly for Forbidden Psalm. I do play RPGs but mostly online these days. Other systems I plan on using are Gangfight Skirmish, which is very robust and flexible, and Reign in Hell.

2021-09-29 11:38:25 +0000 UTCI agree about quality over quantíty. As a merchant its often also a question of finding time to add big releases to the store. I really like the idea of expanding existing factions. An idea for that that would make my life so much better wuld be to add "command models" (musicians and banner bearers) to earlier sets - the ones that can also functiuon as units/regiments in fantasy wargames. That would really increase their value for the wargamers out there :)

2021-09-29 11:37:19 +0000 UTCI look forward to the development of the Bestiarium universe. I am using your miniatures to play by the rules Necromunda underhive with some modifications.
2021-09-29 11:36:30 +0000 UTCMy suggestion would be to revisit old factions with like a series so you release 'old faction, part 2'. Story wise this can be something new entirely, but it can also be a continuation of previous stuff too. I like all the older stuff so more of it would be great for me. One thing I would avoid is to make sequels following each other like part 1,2,3 for months 1,2,3. I would rather see a variety between each month plus it gives you a chance to focus on the things you like and have ideas for instead of being locked into a single path. Maybe one time you have enough ideas for one faction to split into 2 months in a row, but maybe for the third month you want to do something for an old faction you did a year ago, something like that. Aside from DnD there is also pathfinder. I personally play DnD 3.5 edition and pathfinder 1st edition but pathfinder 2nd edition came out somewhat recently. For a DM, I wouldn't want a steady position because I'm busy with work, but if you had something like volunteer projects where people could just submit things with no deadlines or expectations then I'd love to help with that.

2021-09-29 11:34:15 +0000 UTCYour releases are incredible. The only negatives to them is that they rarely 'fit' existing tabletop miniatures systems. By that I mean that each theme could do with a leader, a wizard, some basic infantry, some ranged, some brutes - this way they could be used for SAGA, rangers of shadowdeep etc etc. I really like your move to expanding out existing themes for this very reason. Free rule sets which you could use: one page rules etc. I would absolutely love to see you work with the rangers of shadowdeep / frostgrave guy and come up with rulesets for your minis so that they can be easily brought in. You could even see if he could make a small adventure for them. I don't think that you strictly need to stick to a theme. A release of cool weird monsters and some heros would be perfect. But then so too would a complete frostgrave warband or a re-skin of the Cursed City heros.

2021-09-29 11:33:34 +0000 UTCI only just found you, so take my comment with that in mind. I am honestly only here for the stuff that can be used in DnD and maybe some things that I can print as just cool desktop items or Halloween decorations at large scale. Although I am new, your art is very well done and I am glad to be supporting it.

2021-09-29 11:32:43 +0000 UTCExpanding existing factions is a great idea. There's some older factions I really like the style of and would love to see more.
2021-09-29 11:32:05 +0000 UTCIm a merchant, so from point of view as long as there is enough content that sells each month, im happy with however you go...my only gripe will come if I feel the cost out-ways the profit :D
2021-09-29 11:31:41 +0000 UTCI don't mind there not being themed releases, what I'm personally NOT interested in is the game system, map etc. If this comes as part of the monthly release instead of the models of be less inclined to remain at the tier I am. However, if you made all past releases available to the vendor tier for printing I'd be more inclined to keep up that support long term. For me the draw is the high quality Gothic horror amazing creations you guys create.
2021-09-29 11:31:23 +0000 UTCExpanding existing factions would be cool. Reign in Hell is a game system I've seen used with your minis before.
