Even if nothing comes of it, he needs to watch what he tells Braden as he can do math like anyone else in his shoes and can figure out that Rochi called someone. He would be on very thin ice with Braden then and they would break up before they even were a thing. I got his profile cold, he really takes a long time to trust someone, he will forever despise Rochi for getting him involved with the ethics folks.
