I can just imagine the flustered look on his face (or in the very least a temporary disappearance of his cocky smile) if/when Rocky brings it up in a conversation down the line!

But also, I'd imagined him barely clipping the ball, and a bunch of 14- and 15-year-old kids would say "Okay TECHNICALLY it was a service winner but really it was an ace." And Rocky would probably say that to himself as time went by, remembering it a little better than it was. So it's part first draft artifact, part intentional fiction device. ^^

As far as the terminology goes a tennis ace is technically a scoring serve that an opponent wasn't able to physically touch; if they manage to make contact with the ball it's considered instead to be a service winner. Both terms are often used interchangeably but as far as stat-tracking goes that's the rule of thumb they use in match play (televised play will often only show the number of aces scored to foster excitement). Not trying to be nit-picky as I'm sure most of us won't bat an eye~ Looking forward to your next installment! - Korel
