And as is tradition, here is my summary of art for 2019. I posted approximately 211 art pieces this year - down from last year, but it's partly due to working on Little Runt most of the year. It was really hard choosing which pieces of art should represent which months. Making these summaries feels like I'm giving out awards to pieces of art, lol. Like which one is the best for various reasons. Use of color, character appeal, memorability, etc. I had to narrow it down to twelve, with the best piece (in my opinion) from each month.
The honorable mention for this year goes to Commission: Big-Bad-Rocket (The Climax). I thought it was the best piece I did this year that didn't get picked to be highlighted for the month it appeared (March).
My favorite piece of the year? Easily The Legend Will Live On. I'm still very proud of it. The character, the pose, the expression, the aesthetic, the colors, and it's super memorable too. I also learned a new technique for painting fur with it, that I carried on into future portraits since then (you can see a few of them in this submission).
Overall, 2019 had some great moments, like going to MFF, and some really bad ones, like one I'm going through now with my cat Taylor being sick and possibly passing away soon. But I pulled through in 2018 when similar stuff happened. I'm sure I can do it again.
Take care everyone. Happy New Year.
