Oh, the drama. It's sad but also not surprising. The fierceness of the fans is what makes and breaks kpop and their groups. A double-edged sword one could say. I don't think we'll ever get rid of fanwars, and so companies will probably be analyzing their behavior and what they're saying. But HOW it's analyzed and presented is an entirely different story. As for the political aspect, fans can ask a company to do all sorts of things; I don't blame them for wanting companies they support to align with their own personal views. I myself am not a proponent that someone in the entertainment industry should be fired for their belief that Jews should have a homeland just as much as I would not support someone being fired for their belief that Palestinians should have a homeland, if that is indeed all they are supporting. I know that right now a lot of other assumptions are being made about the entire spectrum of what someone believes because of their support of a much more specific issue. These are topics that get very complicated very quickly and require a genuine conversation with someone to find out what they actually believe. Those genuine conversations usually lead to people finding out they have more in common than they expected. I'll note down the song and hopefully I have time to get to it sooner than later amongst all the Logbooks and other content ATEEZ is hitting us with.

2025-01-24 17:08:06 +0000 UTCOK I'll try. I'm seriously not a follower of most drama or other groups so this will be vague but enough to get the gyst I think. It seems clearly aimed at "Hitman Bang" who is the chairman of Hybe. They had a TON of drama the past year involving the woman at a subsidiary in charge of New Jeans. They accused her of things - she fought back - they wanted her out - the girls wanted her to stay. It was a huge thing. I heard things accusing them pitting girl groups against each other. Part of an internal document from Hybe leaked. It was part of a report that is meant to see what people are saying\what's trending - but did it by collecting a bunch of fanwar stuff & really nasty posts about various idols - by name - some minors - calling them ugly and other things. This was apparently editorialized - also harshly. Like I said I wasn't following it but people were PISSED for a LONG time. Extra note that I've seen a lot of posts\tags all last year asking\telling Hybe to get rid of the Zionist in the company which they clearly haven't - so Odetari being Palestinian-American provides an extra layer of meaning for some people. KQ was asked about the song and they said "We have no official position on this matter." Most comments I saw about it were positive. People glad an idol stood up and said something because the industry is so harsh on the artists - including some ARMY. Some ARMY are MAD AF. New Jeans fans seemed to enjoy it. I guess Odetari does a variety of things and his stuff is popular for TikTok edits. There's no real MV but there is a "visualizer" which is actually pretty stinking cute https://youtu.be/wlPCQFYWRFo?si=0ZF9Py1uLN-j1Dft and a lyric version https://youtu.be/_t49TWDCC58?si=GjV19pZJdsOEbnoO

2025-01-23 23:40:21 +0000 UTCYeah, Logbooks are definitely coming out quick, but I'd love to be able to mix it up a little. I would take some cliff notes on the rap song. I'm not very familiar with the contemporary rap scene in the US. Sounds like with their tour we may be having even more Logbooks and maybe even some vlogs.

2025-01-23 22:04:56 +0000 UTCThis is another of the songs Hongjoong wrote with a member. San wrote the lyrics. Logbook season has hit hard but if you'd like something fun too: Seong Yun Yeo Woo - Fridge interview talking about food they like Hello82 Try-lingual Live singing in various European languages for the countries on the tour Hongjoong dropped a short colab SMB with Palestinian-American rapper Odetari which is pretty controversial since it's obviously an actual diss track of a specific person addressing some industry drama. I can give the Cliff's Notes recap if you want if you are interested. Political mess and the air disaster kept delaying episodes like crazy but we have three of HJ & JH busking in Germany & Austria on Moving Voices. They are quite long but so nice If you wanted to watch in bed or something I can send you links with subs. There are also vids of individual songs or playlists of songs. They announced the other day that one of the other singers on the show has just signed with KQ. Sohyang debuted before any of the TEEZers were even born and she is Incredible. I saw someone call her the Korean Whitney Houston. She said she joined because she met them through the show. There is a docu-series airing in Japan with an episode for each member but I haven't seen it subbed yet. The guys are now in Europe with concerts completed in Lyon and Milan. Yesterday Hongjoong and Seonghwa took a day trip to Lake Como. Today the duo went to Paris for Fashion Week shows while Jongho was snowboarding in the Alps and some of the other guys explored Zurich. It was a good day. Tomorrow is their first concert in Switzerland.
