greatsword requires two, longsword is one or two depending on form and whether you have a secondary, short sword should be one unless delivering a coup de grace.

The proper grip would be;
1. Greatsword: One hand
2. Longsword: Two hands
3. Shortsword: One hand

The heavy should be a 2-handed sword, the Long sword (sometimes referred to as the Bastard sword depending on length of blade and handle not being quite long enough for both hands) is 1 and a half, and Short sword is 1-handed.

Honestly you can use as many hands as you like, but here's the breakdown: 1. 2 hands; 2. 2/1 hand(s); 3. 1 hand
2018-08-26 21:17:47 +0000 UTC
1. two-handed 2.hand-and-half 3. one-handed. The longsword is most commonly used as a two-handed sword but was occasionally used as a one-handed sword, if being used with a grappling strategy or for a sudden increase in your reach.

1. Heavy Broadsword/Great Sword/Zweihander - Should be wielded with two hands. Unless you happen to be as strong as a dragon. 2. Long Sword - Depending on blade length, the fighting style, and strength of the individual.... Two hands for proficiency or one for skilled and strong fighters. 3. Short Sword - One hand.

1. heavy so 2 hands for PROPER wielding (looking at you brea, only one-handing that gigantic cleavag.... cleaver)
2. long so 2 hands to even keep it upright, but can be swung with one hand too
3. 1 hand is all it needs for a firm grip.

It's always hands on 10 and 2. So depending on whether or not it's vertical or horizontal, you either grab by either side of the pointy end (vertical) or along the edge and then the pommel (horizontal).
And make sure you look at every lane of an intersection and make eye contact with your target if you can.
Before swinging your sword.
Oh, and don't forget chains if it's snowing.

Short sword is definitely one handed. The Great sword definitely two handed. The Long sword can swing either way.

Ill say the first two swords require two hands to use the third could most likely be used with one hand maybe the other holding a shield. Until properly trained and strengthened to use the sword one handed not to mention how the blade was built some are made for it, a gladius comes to mind others like a nodachi not so much. Even after training I don't think one handing the first and second sword would be possible just too impractical so much power and control lost without both hands the third though possibly.

The great sword and short sword are relatively easy, they use two hands and one hand respectively in most cases. It's the longsword that's the toss-up in this equation. Depending on what style of longsword you're using it COULD very well be a one or two handed sword. But basing off the drawing, I'm going to assume it's a hand and a half sword, which is specifically designed to be used with either one or two hands depending on the fighting style. So, I guess the long and short of my answer is that it all depends on the style of The Sword and the style of martial art is being used for.
