Many of you found us from our game, Faulty Apprentice, but some of you may know us from our 2016 Halloween Game Jam entry, Paramedium.
We had an overwhelming response and ranked number one despite the fact it was our first game jam ever!! It was such a positive experience for our studio, we would like to make entering the game jam a tradition!
For the next four weeks we will be temporarily shifting from Faulty Apprentice to create a second episode of our game series, Paramedium.
Why participating in Game Jams is good for our studio?
- Exposure: Game jams are activities that present a great networking opportunity for the indie game community. It give us a chance to meet other developers and get featured on the itch.io jam page. Not only that, it also increases our chances of potentially getting notice by gaming blogs! (Paramedium was previously featured on PC gamer, Rock, Paper, Shotgun, and Siliconera). We'll appreciate it if you guys can reach out to your fav streamer/youtubers when the halloween season starts!
- New Programmer: As many of you know, we are making the transition moving our games from basic VN engine into Unity (software). However, before jumping in to our long-term project, Faulty Apprentice, we want to work with our new programmer on a small project, like Paramedium2.
- Education: Since the Paramedium episodes are short, its easy to experiment and try new things. This means learning what works best, and bringing it back to FA.
- Fun: The last but most obvious reason: Its an excuse for us to make a small horror game that we feel you will all enjoy. Paramedium will stay true to our style, you'll have a laugh, some love and maybe a little scare! (=
