How are we all doing? I hope everyone is well. Sorry this one is coming in a little late, last week turned out to be Quite a Doozy and it threw my schedule off. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Things I have been enjoying lately

Dead Cells has recently taken over my brain yet again. I find roguelikes really soothing and Dead Cells has been a stalwart companion of mine for years. I’m getting to the point where it’s just a matter of time before I complete my first run on hard and I am very much looking forward to it. Slightly worried I’ll never go back to Tears of the Kingdom, but goodness me I just can’t help myself.

Cascadia is a lovely board game about creating habitats for wild animals and then encouraging them to live on your tiles. It’s really chilled but also has a good level of strategy to it - exactly the kind of experience I’m looking for at the moment, as the heat is making my mental health Quite Spicy.

How’s Watson?

Just delightful. As I mentioned in Dear Patreon #4, we were waiting on some test results to make sure the lump on her leg wasn’t cancerous. We’ve got those results back and she’s all clear! It’s a massive relief. She herself is having a lovely time at the moment - she’s being really affectionate and spends most of her time on walks paddling in pond water to cool off. She’s always been a happy dog but at the minute it’s clear she’s having an especially good time, which is really rewarding.

How’s Blood Bowl?

The league itself is going great guns - matches are being played left, right and centre and each one has been really exciting. For myself, I fear my strong start to the season may have been a fluke - I suffered an absolute drubbing a short while ago and I’m currently most of the way through a match (we had to stop unexpectedly) that is proving Extremely Difficult. C’est la vie! Next week Games Workshop is releasing an expansion called Gutter Bowl, which I am very much looking forward to. I’m going to try and finish painting my halfling team for it by then.

How’s work?

Alright, ta - sorry to have had to put Press Any Chiodini on hold for a week, but it was sadly necessary. I’ve got a good, clear run at the week now though so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in again.
