2025-03-13 20:32:05 +0000 UTCI don't have anyone particular in mind; I'd say I'm effectively uninformed and looking to Ve to lift me up. I will say though, that safety is only one aspect that needs to be addressed. The impact on social structures, economic systems & peoples' livelihood, etc need some coverage too. We could either be headed towards Terminator or Iain M. Banks 'Culture'. How do we navigate and obtain the latter rather than the former, where the General AI at least aren't hell-bent on anihilating us all. PS: Personally I'd find any statements from the AI firm mouthpieces to be suspect and low value.

2025-02-19 18:41:25 +0000 UTCAh yes, understand you now. We have something in the works on AI safety and have already spoken to some experts. It probably wouldn’t be a talking head/rant style video and would follow our style of storytelling while navigating AI safety issues. Is there anyone in particular that you’d like to see featured on the channel? Or any subtopics to include?

2025-02-19 16:39:43 +0000 UTCYes, exactly. My initial, un-posted comment was to suggest a video with interviews with various futurists, theorists, policy makers, etc on what is / what could be done to steer AI in a positive-future direction. But then I wasn't sure if that would be "talking head" heavy and off-brand for Ve. So I thought I'd just post that leading question here and see what kind of conversation it fostered.

2025-02-11 11:39:22 +0000 UTCWhat do you mean by dodge that bullet? As in what steps humanity should theoretically take in order to prevent AI from becoming an existential threat?

2025-02-10 19:25:17 +0000 UTCPeople frequently say: "AI is a tool. Like any tool, it can be used for good or evil." But AI is not just "a tool". It can make its own decisions. The question is how much power we give AI, either by letting AI directly implement its own decisions or using AI to guide our actions. I am not terribly worried about AI taking over and killing us all. At least not for a while. 😊 As long we we do not get lulled into thinking it is like other tools. Oh, and for the record: I, FOR ONE, WELCOME OUR AI OVERLORDS! (Please do not send me to the camps....)

2025-02-10 18:15:07 +0000 UTCIf your plan is to produce videos about Nobel-winning (and nominated) science, this is a great plan!! If this is not your plan, it should be!! All of your videos are outstanding, and this new one is very informative!

2025-02-10 16:57:08 +0000 UTC"AI" figures heavily in this video, and Team Veritasium (rightly) has a bit of existential concern about the negative social potential. If you had the ability to dodge that bullet, what would _you_ do Team Veritasium?
