Interesting stuff. A phone number is visible at 19:21 in the video - perhaps you'd want to blank that out.

2024-09-25 11:18:25 +0000 UTCJobs and Wozniak weren't the first to spoof the phone system to make free long distance calls. No blue box, or any other electronics was necessary. I don't know if I was the first, but in the late 60s, I figured out all that was necessary was a payphone and a little know-how. Nothing needed to be modified or disassembled. I felt a bit guilty doing it, so only did it when I needed to make a call and didn't have any money to pay for it (rationalization of a 10 year old), and of course once I was old enough to get a job I had no reason other than to occasionally try a few second call to see if it still worked (you know, in case of emergency).

2024-09-22 19:56:35 +0000 UTCVery concerning. I expect most people will be wondering, like me, how to protect our bank accounts more than our privacy. If it costs several million to target someone, then I'm not so worried, but I wouldn't think costs could stay high for long. You gave a laundry list of things to improve security, most of which I didn't recognize. Could you go into more detail in a future video?

2024-09-22 12:48:24 +0000 UTCThank you fo dropping this bomb! The system needs to be changed. And you force it by make it public! It's really scary to see our (Ukrainian) parliament on a moment where you say about targeted VIPs.

2024-09-22 00:50:57 +0000 UTCDoes this affect all sim cards or only physical? I'm curious if digital sim cards have the same vulnerability

2024-09-21 22:53:03 +0000 UTCWow Derek that was a fantastic show. Thanks for putting this together. I had no idea and have often used SMS for 2FA. It would be interesting to know how the newer technologies like 5G protect as well as what eSIM’s bring to closing this privacy gap. Great job.
