I have a different take. I'm impressed by these kids, not by what they know but by knowing what they do NOT know. You could hear it in the way they answered, they are open to learning.

2024-01-16 04:59:30 +0000 UTCI remember all of this being discussed and tested in high school in general science! Nothing is special here. Go to Canada for example and do the same on the street - you'll see much better results.

2024-01-14 18:40:48 +0000 UTCI would like to know how much you selected the interviewees who guessed furthest off, to get a better sense of the range of understanding out there. What percentage got the ordering right? Did anyone answer "several thousand planets" to your question from the start? Did anyone know 100 B stars/galaxy? I would also suggest including the Hubble or JWST Ultra deep field photo as an actual picture of the large scale of the universe. They clearly illustrate the vast distances between galaxies.
