I may have been a little loose with "most people". I know people who wouldn't know what an FFT is, and they wouldn't care or want to know. I excluded them because no thumbnail would work, they would have been turned off by the word algorithm in the title. (You can't always choose family or acquaintances.) I am fairly certain though, all my science literate friends and acquaintances are well aware what an FFT is, and would need something more interesting than the FFT thumbnail to attract their attention. (Unless they already know who Derek is, and would watch it regardless.) Having said that, the thumbnail does seem to be performing OK.

2022-11-06 19:54:59 +0000 UTCYou and I may know what an FFT is, and perhaps even much of Derek's audience, but I assure you *most* people do not. It is far too specialized of a tool for *most* people to have any familiarity with it.
