Sneak peek of video coming out this week -- feedback requested
Added 2022-07-09 08:03:31 +0000 UTCHello wonderful supporters!
We've been working hard on a video, and would love your feedback. There's a few animations that need to be polished, and the music and sound effects will change, but it's pretty close to a final version. We would love your feedback -- what do you think of this video? Which parts work for you? What doesn't? What mistakes are we making? Is there anything that is confusing to you? Is there anything we should add? Is there anything to take away?
Any and all feedback is encouraged. We've been incorporating your suggestions into our videos, and it has made our videos better.
Here's the link to the draft -- https://www.dropbox.com/s/0r21wrxnq3cycu8/20220615_VERITASIUM_HABER_v3.mp4?dl=0
Thank you so much,
Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

I like the story-telling approach. Like the comment above, at 06:16 electron volts don't mean much to a layman like me, so adding a comparison measure (such as the LED light in your phone is ## electron volts). At 10:00 it would be great to add a bit of information about the export of the product or process and it's uptake around the world (everywhere?) to justify the claim that it enabled the huge population growth (after all, it's central to your introduction and the main thrust of the video). At 17:16 when you refer to the end of WW1 how about mentioning Haber winning the Nobel Peace prize again, it being the time it happened, and mention what year it was (1918). WHY was he awarded it, after what he did in the war?? Bizarre. It would be good round up the story like that, otherwise it's a hanging mystery.

2022-07-12 11:25:39 +0000 UTCI like it! I think you bring up a really thought-provoking point at the end. One random thing that's probably not a big deal - it felt a little odd to me how you compared pacifist einstein to patriot haber, seemingly implying pacifists must not be patriots. But knowing that in a lot of contexts patriot does seem to go hand in hand with the military, I looked up the definitions... and boy do dictionaries give very different definitions. Wherever google gets theirs would agree on the willing-to-go-to-war meaning, but merriam-webster says "one who loves and supports his or her country", which to me would not exclude a pacifist. So yeah, thought I'd bring that up as something to think about.
